I think it's time to end the formal competitive part of Junkanoo and just let Bahamians just argue about who was best. The JCNP needs to just organize the scheduling, the venue and the seed money. No need to judging by a few individuals. We have lost the love of Junkanoo and are so focused on the money. Sad that we are destroying a significant cultural display.
This government really makes us look like fools on the international stage. The world clearly sees that we rush through legislation in order to satisfy outside pressure all the while our government has no intention in ever doing anything to put the mechanisms in place for the legislation to be effective. Until the UN or EU etc. tell them that legislation is not enough and that it is implantation that is important our government will continue to stubbornly remain 3rd world. Our goal must to be looked at like an African Nation instead of a Western Nation. Sad.
