Cult? You assume that because someone agrees with a position Lincoln takes then the person holds Lincoln on high? That's pretty ignorant. I totally agree with Lincoln on this issue and admire what he is trying to accomplish. I also like what Lincoln did to finally get government to stop having Bahamians fill out that stupid immigration card many years ago. Do I agree with everything he does??? Not even close. Smarten up Dreamer.
Now when he says 'we' does he mean for cabinet members personally or does he mean for the Bahamian people? Cause we know how these deals work - once cabinet gets theirs then everything cool.
We've all been shouting for Gov't to spend less. Have they? Will they? I think we all know VERY well that they won't as it will guaranty an election loss. So now that we all agree on that point... what are our other options? Grow the economy and/or raise taxes. Since growing the economy is 90% dependent on tourism from the US I think that we can all agree that we have little control over growing our economy in the short to medium term - major projects takes years to complete and we need lots and lots of major projects throughout The Bahamas. That leaves raising taxes in order to meet successive governments need to spend WAY more that they make (take from us). Don't dismiss red's comments simply because you don't like them. Like most of us here, he is a hard working middle class person who, by the way, will also be paying the higher taxes he envisages.
This doesn't bode well for tourism as most of these drop-outs will end up in janitorial/cleaning positions in hotels and then we will have an insane number of tiefen from rooms and pool areas. A struggling education system has very real and long-term ramifications for a society. It was bad before - it will be incredibly bad for the next 10-15 years.

Two different topics. One being this specific issue and the second being a vote for member of parliament.
