This sounds to me like the most valuable portion of this development is the 100 acres of Government Land (the people's land) along the waterfront to Navy Beach. Why on earth would we give land (for free) to a developer to sell? Why not just do it ourselves and keep all of the proceeds? None of this makes sense from a Bahamian standpoint.
Are they not aware that their prices have been beyond too high and that we have all been conserving power for years now? We've changed our light bulbs and we have adjusted our thermostats so that we are just on the verge of comfortable so that we can sleep. Businesses are in the business of making money - do you really think that they are burning the AC's and fridges and freezers and the coldest possible temperatures. News Flash: they aren't. They are doing what is necessary to keep the food safe and the working environments for staff and customers alike, comfortable. If a clothing store doesn't have the lights on and cool air blowing then people ain't going in.
So BPL get you head out of your butt holes and fix the grid. And fix it so is not only supplies us what we need now, but so the it can also supply us as we develop. Please note: there will be more homes built and there will be more hotels built and businesses created (hopefully). So PLAN for that and stop talking nonsense!!!!!
BPL has heard the PM's request to give us concessions. And BAM just like that BPL is saving us money - by keeping the lights off. Praise the Lord, our next light bills will be lower.
I envision vomit spewing out of the Energy Minister's mouth every time she talks. How she's keeping her job is quite the mystery. She must be serving some other purpose within the party for them to keep backing up her uselessness.
Fred Mitchell telling Duane and I guess anyone who ever served in government to keep their mouths shut about the power situation. This is what progress looks like under the PLP. 5 years in power and things have gotten worse. Imagine the chaos in another 5 years.
There will be sunken boats there within a year and several jet ski accidents as well.
It does sound like this is a done deal and by the looks of it drug dealing rapist jet ski gang operators are behind it. Where's there is ill-gotten gains you can always find pre-approved government development.
I can't imagine how difficult it is for parents with autistic children. Without substantial personal financial resources the journey of such a family must be overwhelming difficult.
