So there is information gathering about our criminals? Well it took long enough for the public to learn that they exist.
All of this information gathered needs to be shared with the wider public so that everyone, especially parents, teachers and care givers can be better informed.
I'm sure that teachers can quite easily spot kids that will most likely end up in prison for violent crimes. So if more information can reach them they can better act on their suspicions and provide early warnings to our social services people to maybe perform spot checks at homes and speak to children.
number of judges from 20 to 25? That's a serious solution for speeding up trials??? My Lord we are doomed. As we will most likely have on average 100 murders a year and each judge can hear maybe 10 murder trials a year, plus we have a backlog of at least a couple of hundred, then we need to be hiring at least 20 judges immediately just make a serious dent. With only 5 new judges then the PM is right, this will be going on for 10 years with just the backlog we have now. In two years we're going to be twice as backlogged.
I'm not sure why the PLP want to spend plenty money on bloated contracts without first getting the fundamentals in our country running properly.
Normally a government backed or controlled company is a good, safe investment. Unfortunately, here, if the government is involved, there is a higher probability that the company will be used to hire handfuls or lazy morons and also as a slush fund to give contracts and receive kickbacks. Plus the chances of it being audited within 5 years of any year-end, let alone getting a clean audit, is close to ZERO.
Housing allowance should only be for individuals having to relocate to another island. There are just too many corrupt practices going on to keep track of.
This repatriation exercise reminds me very much of our independence. From the article it sounds like the museum in Michigan reached out to us asking if we wanted these bones - I'm guessing they are purging their storage room. Based on our Dr. Turners question about whether or not the skull has teeth it is obvious that we know nothing about the remains and probably didn't know they existed until we were contacted - we didn't reach out to them for these. Just like our independence, I am sure we didn't fight or insist on it, we simply got a telegram telling us to come to London to sign some documents... and bring your own pen!
Just another PLP failure. How many is that now? Who got the contract for sourcing these? I bet you 10 to 1 that this same crony will get the contract to buy the next set of ambulances as well. Hopefully he will have learnt that our population is obese and we need the extra wide chassis and two pedals in instead of three.
fail! fail! fail!
The PLP is more costly than a category 5 hurricane hitting every single island.
