We don't need to escort kids to school; we need to rid the streets of gangs. I'm sure the police have a dossier on every gang and the vast majority of their members. Pass a law to allow police to round up all the gang members and throw them in jail until they die. Very simple!
A lovely and at the same time, sad story. Thanks for sharing. I too have been complicit in allowing my kids to do silly things that I did as a child. I defended my lack of discipline by saying I was just like that and I turned out okay(ish). But in retrospect (usually in bed when I review my day) I realize that I should have disciplined them then and there. On occasion I have discussed my errors the next day but I shouldn't have waited.
Hopefully the children's mother at least thought about it later and discussed the unnecessary taunting with them. Teasing happens, but it should not be wholly excused!
“I am the president that is speaking up for the nurses. There are other unions and they’ve already told their members not to work the overtime if the government is not going to pay them. So, let the hospital remain dirty, nobody to sweep it, nobody to mop it, nobody to clean up the bathrooms…let the hospital remain dirty. No X-rays will be done if you don’t pay the people. No blood works will be done and definitely no nurse will be working overtime if it’s not paid.”
First, I didn't realize that nurses did the mopping and cleaning of the bathrooms. - I thought we gave a big contract to someone else for that? Second, if this is work that they are supposed to do then they can do it during their working hours. Why must it be done ONLY during overtime?
Surely cleaning is done throughout the day by whoever is responsible for doing it.
This BNU president needs to find another job if this is her argument.
