These models were hired so early in the game and, according to the film, were told that the nasty man had purchased the island. It is NOT their responsibility to check ownership and they had no way to know that during following months the whole thing would turn out to be a scam. Nn fact no-one knew it was a scam until the day of the festival. I can't see how these models could be held liable in any way.
Is cremation cheaper? If so, cremate the bodies and send the ashes to Haiti for whoever to pick up. Burial is such a waste of precious space (worldwide).
Did the prosecution ever go through the bank accounts and ask about any and all cash deposits? Or, was the prosecution just focused on the phone calls and that lousy witness?
The majority of taxi drivers I have had the pleasure of meeting, have not be a pleasure to meet. Most are crass, nasty, greedy. There are always some fantastic ones of course; but there are not enough of them. When I first started my AirBnB the very first customer that came arrived by taxi almost got scammed. Thankfully I was there because the taxi driver dropped him at the front door and the guy gave him a $100 bill for the $35 plus tip ride. The taxi driver simply said I don't have any change and proceeded to reach out for the $100 bill. The customer didn't have any smaller bills either. The taxi didn't offer to go get change or to bring back change, he just reached for the bill. Thankfully I was there to give the taxi guy $40 and tell him to carry his @$$!
