Unfortunately, the ignorant among us (and there are many) always revert back to the white man controlling things from behind the scene and of course, back to slavery times. Many of us still live in the holds of those slave ships.
The Business Licence audited statement requirements and the 2% NHI tax on salaries are simply the last steps needed in order to introduce income tax. Once they have our salary details and detailed business numbers they can then calculate exactly what the income tax rate will be and there will be no way for us to then suddenly declare different figures as they will have a trail.
And don't think the PLP will stop the introduction of Income Tax - they will publicly say they oppose it if the FNM is in power and they will push it through if they are in power because 'the FNM left us in such a mess'.
Has any FNM MP come out to address the concerns of these protestors? Even if there were only 5 people protesting I would expect for Minnis or PT to acknowledge them and address their concerns.
I thought only children throw temper tantrums and break things when they get mad! As an adult, surely you see how asinine it is to burn down your own house because your frustrated!
How did the courts arrive at the $15,000 amount for bail? Based on a 'no charge'? He must of done some REALLY serious stuff to deserve $15k because drug dealers and armed robbers get bail for much less.
Excellent letter and wonderful contributions above. Unfortunately, I have been in this industry all of my working life and I cannot see a way out. My peers and I discuss this issue constantly and we always bang our noses against the invisible wall.
Hold on! So union members are now going to do more in protest? They are actually saying that they will do what's in their job description instead of talking on their phones, flirting with customers, begging for tips and napping in the corner? This is fantastic news!! Service will be much improved.
I finally get to say kudos to a union. If only we could get the civil service to 'work to rule'.

I agree. Its nonsensical how judges won't punish people harshly. There's no deterrent.
