Good point. I'm sure they would rather spend $60k hiring a good Bahamian for middle management than spend +$200k for a foreigner (including work permit, school and housing allowance, car etc.)
Poor options indeed. I just know one thing - if the PLP get back in then I am certainly not paying any more Property Tax. It would be better spent paying the first year's amount directly to the 'bag man'.
Would our tower and staffing be adequate enough to track and handle all of that air traffic. I imagine not. If not, how much of an upgrade is required? How many more highly trained controllers would we need?
I don't know too many people who are still on Doc's run. It's very scary what limited political options we have. FNM is now a 50/50 option and PLP still a distant 5th place (out of 2) as long as Brave dem still involved.
This is really upsetting! 50 ft of water and no-one got in the water? No-one even tied a float to the tail so that it could easily be found? I could have been out there with my boat's flood lights and two floating waterproof cat lights (about $30 each) from costco. Next time, call the gated communities and let them ask homeowners for assistance. You could probably get +10 boats out there and +40 sets of eyes, scanning the area.
How long has Mr. Russell been in the Immigration department? If it's been more than 2 years then I would take his "we don't tolerate corruption" with a fist full of salt.

We should at least be getting a piece of the pie. Have we even asked for 10% of the revenue generated?

Dear IMF, please tell our government to make our civil servants' pensions contributory. Thanks.
Worth a shot.
