If a child is stateless then the **only** people to blame are the parents and grandparents of that child. It is a parents responsibility to register their children where they belong and to get those children the documents necessary for all instances and emergencies.
I can't imagine me as a parent moving to another country for work, having a child there and saying to myself "the child can deal with this when she's 18". And knowing that until then the child can't leave this new country for any reason. I would kick myself in the nuts for being so ignorant!
my sentiments exactly. I want to see a collection system in place and details of how inventory, ordering and expenditure are better monitored in place before I even think about giving the hospital authority any more money. Right now they are a leaky sieve.
Even though i really want family islands to become more developed so that I, and many others can leave Nassau, I also believe that just because land rises from the seas doesn't mean that people should live on it. And, just because people live in a certain area does it mean that government should spend money providing services to those people. A balance must be struck wherein each island should generate sufficient funding from whatever industries, to become self sufficient - at a minimum, and at best be able to contribute to The Bahamas as a whole. A study should be done to see how much revenue is generated from the island and based on that it would dictate how much will be spent by government on that island. It maybe that the airport simply can't afford an airport and that a government dock and a helicopter pad is the best solution at this time. Then the people of Cat Island would then need to approach fast ferries and organize a schedule. Because of demand for supplies and the movement of people it would now be profitable for a fast ferry service to go into Cat Island as that would be the only way of getting there. This economic approach could be used for all islands and we would most likely see dramatic changes in transportation around The Bahamas. This approach works in other countries that have many islands. Once an island gets to a certain size/population based on ferry service then they can consider having an airport and certain other amenities.
"Marijuana use damages the developing brain of a young person - a proven fact."... and what does this have to do with the discussion? No one is asking for marijuana use to be legal for young people. No country in the world has made it legal for young people (under the age of 18) to buy marijuana.
In five years that mall is going to look exactly how it looks now and exactly how the current post office looks now. I thank the good Lord that I never have to go to the post office. Any package that may come in for me can stay right there.

Unions are simply too difficult to work with and they do not negotiate in good faith. They now need to be outlawed!
