These separation packages are sure making it look attractive to work for government. All I need to do is sit at my desk for a few hours a day and do the bare minimum for 20 years and not only do I get a salary, I also don't have to contribute to my pension, I get a gratuity when I leave as well as a separation package! PLUS they will probably hire me as a consultant after and pay me double my normal salary. I must be insane for working in the real world. Now if I can only remember who my MP is... I need a gubment job!
Thanks for the article Diane. Climate change is an historic battle for mankind. Our grandkids will be studying it in school and asking us what we did to combat it. For me: Hybrid car, energy efficient appliances and A/C units, recycling all plastics, cans and (beer) bottles and lush vegetation, led lightbulbs and solar security lights.
The BNT just needs to make all of the seabed around lighthouse point a 'protected area' so that cruise ships cannot dock/dredge or shuttle guests into that area.
We need to hire some professional lawyers because the ones in the AG's office certainly did not give government sound advice when they gave the green light to demolish. They should have anticipated some push back and possibly a court action and they should have had all of their support ready to present a judge. Our AG's office smells of incompetence!
Spanish Wells has run it's own power since I was a kid. They have done it successfully, the bigger islands (Abaco, mainland Eleuthera etc.) should be able to do it as well.
They need to get rid of uniforms for government schools (like many other countries). But, in saying that, I do appreciate that most of the kids will then dress like buffoons and there will still be parents who beg for money saying that they don't have enough money to buy enough regular clothes for their handful of unwanted children.
