Wtf? They just left about a week ago. They might as well just stay. I hope its not the same entourage going.

Stapedius says...

Exactly. Bahamians are so trapped by politics that they view everything through a political lens. Ok fine you don't trust the executive branch. Now we say the whole judiciary is corrupt, then onto the police and so on and so forth. But these aren't some aliens in our midst who hold these positions. Its you and me, our family members etc. So are we content in saying we are all corrupt? It's just so stupid.

Stapedius says...

That's nonsense and you totally miss the point. No one should excuse wrong wherever it occurs. The point is who says the the judge is wrong? The point is people had it as a given that the judge would rule in favour of the developer. We have little faith or trust in our own is my point. The judge may have had a very good reason to deny the application. But instead of us saying let's wait on the ruling we jump all over it like bi#%$ in heat say oh government corruption, court corruption. Total nonsense.

Stapedius says...

Bahamians are a strange breed. Why is the court considered kangaroo? So because the decision has not gone in the direction of a developer the judge and the court is corrupt? Thats BS if I might say so. We tend to think other courts and justice systems around the world are so transparent and sweaky clean. I may not agree with the judge's decision but I respect what belongs to us. I'm sorry, but we for some reason have this dim view of everything Bahamian. To hell with that and to hell with those who think this way. Be critical of our government yes, but this persistent attitude by many Bahamians that we are somehow inferior in every way shape or form is sickening. I don't know the judge or any of the players involved in the dealings of this mess. But I would hope that a judge born and raised here has just as much integrity and skill as his counterparts around the world. Just sick of hearing this anti-Bahamian shit all the time.

The irony is that the same people who call the court kangaroo want the privy counsel removed as our high court for the purpose of carrying out the death penalty. So what yinna want?

Hubert #2 finally responds. A day late and a dollar short. Minnis is no leader. He always two steps behind and jut doesn't have the kind of impact to press or drive home the real concerns. FNM please offer a better alternative. Seriously, we the people of this nation are at a loss. Morons in office now and more to come seems to be our motto in this country.

Stapedius says...

Its funny that all of a sudden the Bahamar folks want to keep things contained. Weeks ago they were keen to use the media for their own benefit. But I do agree that all sides should keep their traps shut during these negotiations.

Stapedius says...

Why can't we all just laugh at the saga which is playing out. Just chill the f out.

Stapedius says...

The same should be said of D'aguilar. Charlatans they all are. It is always some expert opinion and when you turn around loan skeletons in the closet. The likes of him and dirty D need to be exposed for who they are. Everyone seems to think these guys are clean, legitimate business men. Rubbish. They are just as bad as the illegal numbers racket.

Stapedius says...

Sometimes it is best to say nothing and let things unfold. Not certain that this public back and forth is getting us anywhere. Both parties are wrong. The tone of these communications are really not at a level expected of a government or an investor. So both morons need to keep their cool.

Damn them all for helping us get into this mess. None are blameless. The PM and his advisers should have been more proactive in monitoring the progress of this mess especially considering this project has had such setbacks from its inception. At the same time Minnis and his band of idiots are just as responsible. They are our official opposition and elected members of parliament. Their job should be in the interest of the Bahamian people. So they are also charged with the responsibility of closely monitoring and assessing matters of national importance. It seems politicians nowadays only interested in seeing their face in the papers with one liners and charged up rhetoric. No one wants to take the time to research and investigate things. This deal had both these jokey parties involved in negotiations.

Now these Bahamar clowns want our courts to fast track things through for their convenience. That's BS. They didn't have the decency to inform the opposition or the government about this bankruptcy filing. Yet, they want heaven and earth to move for them now that they're embarrassed. This is not a political issue in my opinion. I agree with Brent Symonette on this one. This bankruptcy was well orchestrated and it is an insult to our government and our people. But this is exactly the reason so many people are not convinced that these mega hotel projects are the way to go. The "too big to fail" situation always arises and a large sector of the economy becomes affected. Poor negotiations and poor oversight on our part and disgusting tactics by these developers.
