The point is this thing doesn't have to be politicized. He may not have gotten approval just based on what his proposal lacked. And yes, it is quite stupid to invest that kind of money without being certain that all the requirements are filled. By the way, when since have we ever seen any government body move at an efficient pace. It takes forever and a century for simple things like police records, birth certificate and passport renewal. So I would believe that the file is sitting on some PS desk buried in dust.

The proper provisions must be in place to handle and radioactive tracer material. There's always 3 sides to these stories. For now we've only heard 1. It is laudable that he wants to bring health technology to the islands but things must be done in a safe way. Any medical device or procedure can cause more harm than good if not used correctly. So please before going crazy blaming people let's have a more critical look at this one.

SP you have a strong argument and most people would agree that the unskilled labourer is not what is needed. And yes it is true that slackness and poor productivity is not exclusive to Bahamians. Many expats come for vacation and not work. But we so often associate 'foreign' with 'expertise,' when this is certainly not the case. I think the Bahamar project is a perfect example. With all the so called skilled engineers and workers from abroad this project still has so many problems. So sometimes we are our are harshest critics. But we must get to a point of showing people better than we can tell them. Good skills and work ethic begins in our homes and our schools. It is in these areas the government needs to be taken to task.

D'aguilar talked bs. No one denies the fact that we need skilled labour in our country. Equally important is a sensible immigration policy. The moment some nonsense goes down with an expat then the government is blamed for allowing criminals into the country. So the argument must be measured and make sense. We cannot close our eyes to the need for foreign labour and expertise. At the same time we have to protect out borders. I find that we do have many skilled Bahamians to work the trouble with us is laziness and poor time management. We ask a plumber to come to our business for 10 am to which he agrees. 10 am goes by 11, 12 noon, 1 o'clock comes still no plumber and no phone call to let you know. That's what we do in our country. Slackness and laziness is killing us.

Kenyatta is one big oaf. Speaking of Rollins, he has every right to leave. A man must follow his conscience. But I would have to agree with some of the comments above. Being an MP doesn't mean he had to give handouts to his constituents. None of our politicians seem to get it. Apparently Rollins totally neglected his constituents. Now, one could argue all of our politicians do. But he's the one jumping up in the media and he's the one resigning so he has to take what criticism comes with it. I believe if he runs as an independent there or anywhere he will lose. Not because he's an independent but he cannot be trusted. The way he and Wells joined the plp was shady after having over and repeatedly lambasted them when they were NDP. I lost respect for both the moment they joined. I would never vote for Rollins. He claims he is speaking on behalf of the Bahamian youth. Well who told him a lie? It is my firm belief that the old crew we've seen for the last 40 years need to call curtains. But Rollins needs to come again.

So true. Fired is more like it. I can't believe the morons finding excuses and trying to justify this. These are the same ones who complain saying the government don't have this and that. Do they know the cost to move an ambulance rig? Every time that vehicle moves there is an immense cost and safety which must be considered. The fuel costs, the risk of transport as oxygen tanks are onboard. No one seems to think in our country anymore. We want to be so different that it doesn't matter how it effects others. People say she was being creative. Fine! Be creative but pay for it. Pay the standard $500-$1000 fee for the ambulance ride. Ridiculous.

Banker I couldn't agree more. We are always behind the ball on things. We have this sluggish approach to everything and expect to see progress. The simple truth is the government has to become leaner and more efficient. It should I hope, translate to quicker advancement in all sectors.

Just pathetic. Both the governing party and opposition love to keep dipping into their deep bench of cronies and idiots. When I heard D. Foulkes, a two time loser was intending to run again it was alarming, now this. If these jokers are the only pool of people that can be seen as representatives of government then we really have a long way to go. Alfred go away, V. Alfred carry your rass, Leslie go, BJ and Perry please retire, Bethel,Turnquest and Foulkes don't come back. An incomplete list but you get the point.

Who gives a rat's arse what she ranked in her class? She's not to blame anyway. It's the idiot EMT and the manager who consented to doing it. We always mixing apples and oranges what the hell does her grades have to do with anything? Fire them both. I get the impression that this is routine for them. Ie. Using the emergency vehicle for personal runs.
