This is truly a load of bs. This has been going on at Bec for years. New generators bought by both governments so I don't know if the blame is on any one party or government. The fact is BEC management has done a terrible job of developing a sensible power network. The excuse is that the executives hands are tied. If that's the case do the decent thing and resign. Why stay with a company that you cannot improve or show how your leadership has made it better? These a holes simply stay for the money. They can care less about performance. How about performance based bonuses for BEC employees rather than overtime pay?

The COP appears powerless to deal with anything. I mean does it really require union intervention to settle this matter? I wouldn't want my officers working in mould infested stations. The real problem is poor construction and poor design of government buildings. These half assed architects and contractors are costing the government millions. The other issue as mentioned before is maintenance. We only tear down and rebuild in this country. Wasteful people.

I beg to differ John. Our governments have sold and sold us out over and over again. Pathetic. Go along our coastline and look at what has been allowed to happen. Big development and ruined beaches. Sandyport is a prime example of how that man made canal has damaged the beach. All the attrition of sand along the beach which eventually pours into the street on high tide or surging sea. Its ridiculous.

What's amazing is that there are still so many Bahamians with this attitude the investor is always right. We need to get to a point where we don't care about how much money these people have. Yes we welcome investment and partnerships but you can't just say or do what you feel because you have money.

Buzz off Izmirilian. He's pointing fingers everywhere now that the project is delayed. First he lashed out at the Chinese now he wants to blame the government. There's plenty of blame to go around I'm sure but he only need look in the mirror for some of it. He couldn't attract the brands initially, then the Mondrian pull out. Next like we locals say he 'wibing' with Breezes. Problem after problem and want talk promises. The reality is we all have an interest in seeing the project do well but he seems to w ant to sulk and moan. There were lots of errors on the government's part, his and the Chinese part. This attitude that someone else is to blame is typical of a person who has money but is not self made. In other words, daddy's money does well but you can't set up a project of this scale.
