You know what though its not a party thing. I believe Minnis is the wrong choice for the FNM as I believe Christie is wrong for the PLP. We really need to get beyond this cult like attitude towards leadership. Hubert Minnis just isn't the man to take the FNM forward. I mean give us some good choices in leadership between these parties. Ever heard the song 'Stuck in the middle with you?' It says 'clowns to my left jokers to my right, stuck in the middle with you.'
Thanks for the lesson. Smart@#$ Oddly enough, there is a picture of Tommy T when he was minister and a Stem Cell start up in Freeport, in today's Guardian. This is the same party who appears to be totally against it because of regulatory concerns. Yet, they themselves approved the Okyanos project in Grand Bahama. Why hasn't Dr. Minnis addressed that? He was the minister of health at the time. So he approved of it then but, because he is no longer minister or the FNM is not in power he disapproves?
I see the party whip has gotten to her. But its strange isn't it, that this MP who loves to point the finger and accuse others of flip flopping is now doing a complete U-turn. Politics makes me sick in this country. Nobody ever votes their conscience it seems. Just a bunch of dumb sheep sitting on the parliamentary benches. This is not even some major issue to have to vote party line on. The reality is both of these parties take huge contributions from some pretty undesirable people. The current PLP makes me quite annoyed. But the FNM is grasping at straws. First, Minnis says we wouldn't be able to police it and that was his major concern. Now they say Nygard is involved and funding it and also made contributions to the PLP. We really have to wipe this country clean of these mindless politicians that have been representing us for far too long. Big economic and crime issues and this is what we waste our time on. Such losers.
Why do we get so caught up on issues in this country? The stem cell legislation is still a minor plank in the government's plan. Or it should be anyway. We have much bigger concerns to deal with. But for some reason our politicians seem to like getting involved with these petty arguments. We have allowed Nygard, Bacon and the rest to intrude too much into our daily thinking. Can we please start acting like a sovereign nation? Would the media houses stop giving these idiots in their personal war all this air time? I don't care what Nygard or Bacon thinks we should do.
On another note. Ingraham may have said stay away from Nygard but he didn't say stay away from the Aga Khan. A man who subsequently gain approval from Earl D the minister of Environment at the time to dredge in the Exuma sea park. What a dishonest group of people we have representing us. Sickening.
I totally agree. He's a jack@$%. What a stupid way to resolve your problems. Its is exactly this attitude which keeps this country in the toilets. The company should have made sure these workers were paid, but I cannot agree with this destructive and stupid act. He should be jailed.
We will never have the best laid plans. But I think we need a start. We most certainly need vast improvements in the healthcare services that we provide. My issue with our government both present and past is that they so love credit and media that they can't see the forest for the trees. I think we can do both things and grow our healthcare industry. Being in the medical profession myself I know full well that there is uncertainty in quite a lot of what we do. We often make some risky decisions that some times pay off and some times does not. That's the nature of science and we cannot be afraid to take some calculated risks. I see our country simply responding to international articles at every turn. Many of these writings are not even credible. When are we going to begin writing policies for the Bahamian people and not simply to avoid being blacklisted?
You're correct the RBDF is a joke. But what is proper equipment if we don't have the man power? The RBDF is simply too small a force to effectively do the job. We need more qualified recruits to join the ranks. Our waters are vast and its easy to penetrate our porous borders. Strategy, technology and more recruits. New vessels and equipment are expensive but its an investment we need to make. Perhaps we can do long term agreements with US contractors to get vessels and equipment on an ongoing basis at low interest. We seriously need to look into an extensive helicopter program where we have units on these islands that can patrol and respond to disturbances within our borders.
He means well but has become a PR man. Media all day long and no results. We are not questioning your ethics just the ability of the force and the judiciary to do its job. We have to face facts and the facts show that we are having trouble with keeping our country safe. What happened to all the big talk about urban renewal 2.0? Is that even working? Are there tangible results? We are spending money on programs but are we getting the results we had hoped? We need to be more analytical and scientific when we implement policy. We can't just spend money on feel good programs and have no benchmarks of achievement.
No they won't create a bureau. Nothing will happen at all. We take everything in this country lightly. Its a safety hazard and we see these bush mechanics all over near to residential areas.
Not the case at all. The church is not obligated to settle any civil matters Frasier may have been tried for. He may have been the pastor of church but there was no legal judgement against the church. On the Arawak land matter, I'm not familiar with all the details so I can't speak to it. But you seem to be missing the point. I never mentioned any video or who was involved etc. The point that I've been making from the few previous posts is that this matter could have and should have been handled better. I will say again loose talk and premature mutterings about suing is not helpful. So talk about veering in the wrong lane. Where are you coming from about video etc? Who cares about the video at this point?
