Please stop making this a party politics issues. These b!t&es been tiefn under every government. A tief is a tief no matter who's in power. The reality is we need a reformed civil service. One which requires proper vetting and accountability. Sad part is for corruption to thrive we the citizens are supportive these illegal practices. Under the table deals for license and registration. It all boils down to poor system design. The thieves there issue registration to non road worthy vehicles and on the other end the police cruise on by when a light is busted or a car is emitting so much smoke that you can hardly see the road. So what is to be expected ? Corruption, slackness and people who love piracy.
The Tribune never looks for sensible commentary. A load of sensational rubbish these days. But I guess this is what sells papers. Mr. Miller is like Trump; good for comic relief but not serious about things that matter. The reporters just love to stick a mic in his face.
Interesting article and happy that you're enjoying your educational experience in the UK. However, I disagree with some of the comments posted. Having the privilege of studying in both the UK and US I think both systems have some unique aspects. It really all depends on where you go. Some universities in the UK are pretty crap where the standards are quite poor. The same goes for the US. Also, it's unfair to say the US has no culture. They may not have the long history of the UK but they have culture. Again, its about what you enjoy and where you are.
Nygard is scum no doubt. An old crow with too much money and too much say in this country. Our political class are plane and simple, stupid. We love to have dinners, parties and chat it up with people like Nygard. Our politicians need to be above reproach and stay away from these types. We have to do better than this. Personally, I am sick of both him and Bacon in our public discourse and life. We have too many important issues to address in this country to resolve for these a holes to be basking in the lime light. He is not the first foreigner to say such things about our leaders and he won't be the last. Our democracy allows for criticism and critique. No issue there. I'm annoyed that our politicians keep allowing themselves to fall into such traps. Stop having these cozy moments with these folks and we won't have scandals like this. You see Obama doesn't even have too much mixing with the Washington folks. He is tuned into his family and his job. So Perry stay your ass out not Olives and lead this country.
Disgusting people. We all know PMH has some issues with resource and facilities. But I believe we have the best doctors in the world. Give them the resource and training and they can do just a well or even better than other health systems. I don't believe this man's story. No complaints before leaving and then all of a sudden when he lands home he tries to tear down our doctors. Unforgivable.
Don't agree with this Fred much but he is right here. The government has to be joking. The BoB was bailed out and the names of cronie borrowers kept silent. Instead of suggesting loan repayment or service for repayment like bonding etc the government jumps to putting people in court. I hope they don't get a s&!t back. Too damn corrupt. Young people can't afford homes, and to start their lives within being in unbelievable debt in this country. These are the same a holes who say they 'Believe in Bahamians."
