Simply too hilarious to be taken seriously. Free electricity? Does that mean citizens will get cash distributions for all the times there is no power service?
So the guy is charged with a criminal offense and he is not to be permitted into the country to defend himself in court and you suggest this is a necessary course of action to protect Bahamian immigration laws? Maybe more than cruise ships are moving to Cuba.
All the sale "gave away" was the opportunity for lots of swag falling into the pockets of government insiders. This was such a lucrative boondoggle for Mr. Gibson and his PLP stalwarts it's no wonder they have spent five long years investigating. This is the same reasoning that values BEC and its new iteration so highly. It's a drag on the budget, but oh, how the cash flows to where, nobody knows.
A perfect PLP rant. "National Assets"??? BEC/BPL loses millions every month and supplies unreliable power, at astronomically inflated cost to its customers. What kind of National Asset is that? It is an "asset" only to the corrupt cronies who profit off the pad. Sell it? Who would buy it? They need to find someone to take it off government's hands at whatever cost.
A worthwhile hope, John, but hardly likely. Note the P.M. glaringly and publicly reaching out to tip the scales of justice in the Nygard matter. The last bastion of a corruption free institution in this country, the court system, is now under open siege.
The lady's report is probably filed in the same hole in the ground as are the serial complaints and associated exhibits filed by Save the Bays personnel about threats to their lives and an ongoing murder for hire conspiracy.
