Let this be a forewarning to any up and coming young Bahamian artists. You are a Bahamian. You don't count. Look at Carnival pay for foreign vs Bahamian artists last time.

If yoos Bahamian, you can suck teeth and shut up. Buy ya chicken and beer and celebrate ya fake independence.

"And with the recent increase in VAT and additional taxation on the Web Shop boys, does the government still have to shut the country down?"

NO. The previous govt has shut the country down by running up insane debts while in power.

I myself recently got a big flat screen TV on a payment plan from one of the local stores in Nassau. Last Saturday night my girlfriend and I had plans to have a nice dinner at Outback Steakhouse by the mall and afterward catch a movie. However, when we considered the cost of the meal, the movie tickets, a large popcorn to share and 2 small drinks - we were ok with the expense - but at the last minute luckily we remembered that the 3rd payment on the TV was due this week Thursday (yesterday) and so we decided to hold off and keep the money for that.

So we grabbed two chicken snacks, went back home and put a nice show on the big screen with the built-in Youtube app.

I am confident this is the same kind of thinking that Peter Turnquest is using as he fights temptation every day, reigning in spending and making sure our country's "big flat screen TV" don't get repossessed.

For those of you who think this event would be a net positive income - I say, the same would be like if you ran across a deal someone selling a car for $2500, and you know you could clean it up and put new tires and a working sound system and sell it for $4500 making a profit of $1200. (Net positive income).

Sounds wonderful. BUT you can't do it if you don't have $2500 to buy it.

We don't have $5M to "buy" this profitable sports event. Sad, but true.

Exactly.

The key solution is to raid places of employment. Quiet, nice raids. Just take 20 officers, walk in thru back door and lock it. Station 2 men there. The rest walk to front and lock that door. 5 men outside, 15 inside.

Now ask who you is?

$10,000 fine to the bossman for each violation found.

A few of these made public, and miracles will start to happen.

I guess now that that the Christian Council said this week that they won't oppose the govt plan for free condoms in the schools, we had to toss them another bone. They gotta have something to be upset about, kind, decent Christians that they are.

Wonder if Jesus came to Earth today and took inventory of our host of problems worldwide, what number on his newly formed list of priorities would he assign to marijuana?

Oh those poor, poor, exploited Haitians. The government is messing up their plan to invade and take-over the Bahamas. Defending its own people. The nerve of this government!!!

Don't worry. I'm sure some knight on a horse somewhere with the letters QC emblazoned on his armour will ride to Europe and get all the big sissy organizations there to ORDER us to lower our flag, hoist the Haitian flag, commit self-genocide, and turn the keys to the country over to you guys.

We are only Bahamians. Why do we deserve to have a country? You guys deserve 2 countries, especially since your first one done fill-up.

This would be a big mistake. These are the big people with big money that come here and provide the grease for this country to work.

Don't mess with them. Not a good idea at all.

These little piddly taxes are nothing compared to their inputs. Your net result will be VERY negative.

"...proves there is a lack of planning and vision by the government, according to Official Opposition Leader Philip “Brave” Davis"

LOL. And the FNM govt coming to power interrupted WHAT plans the PLP had?

Aa to where they going to live, ask the bahamians in Freeport who livin' in their cars - for long time now. Setup some outside showers (coin operated) and wish them the blessings of the voodoo god.

Licks2 - a report came out about a month ago that listed remittances to Haiti by country. Canada and others far exceed us, but our number is $58M. They are all over the world doing the same thing. One giant coordinated global army, pretending to be poor and downtrodden.

However, now i think the ghost costume mask has been ripped off, like at the end of a Scooby Doo show. People worldwide are waking up to their devices - them and the towel-heads playing games in Europe.
