Bogart, i would support a complete swap of countries with Haiti. Every single Haitian must leave Haiti and come here and every Bahamian must go there.

That would be great. Haiti is all one connected land. We would save a ton of money on our now duplicated govt services. We would turn Haiti into a tourism and industrial powerhouse.

In three years the sloops would be leaving the Bahamas headed south toward Haiti filled with Haitians "fleeing poverty and oppression".

joeblow...maybe cause Minnis has heard the word about a vote of no confidence being planned and knows his only defense is a snap election. These new citizens will be strategically placed in the appropriate constituencies with shiny new voters cards.

The ones put in McAlpine's constituency may even be asked to vote PLP ....LOL.

"I would guess that 30 of the 35 I swore in last week were Haitian nationals, ..."

Funny Brent. You don't have to guess. You have access to the info (which we don't) and of course they are Haitian nationals. Duh.

Only half-starved, overbreeding people with no desire for civilized living standards would want to live here.

It's time for any Bahamian with sense to start investigating the 197 member countries of the U.N. and find out which if any would allow us in as refugees. We are being pushed out of our own country, by our own government.

"...to empower a new class of entrepreneurs that includes practitioners in the fishing industry'. I'm not exactly sure what he means by that..."

He probable means he will continue to create confusion and obstacles for Bahamians until they give up and allow Haitians to take over the industry - since it is one of the few left in Bahamian hands.

You will see next year when MP financial disclosures are required by law, very few will submit them. Just like under the PLP. No need for simple minded voters to be bothered with such trivial matters. Just keep payin ya VAT and don't question incentives.

If i get no money directly into my bank account every three months based on oil revenue - that i can withdraw and spend as i choose - then i will vote PLP next time regardless of any other factors whatsoever in the campaign. Even if the PLP candidate says he will sign the whole country (officially) over to Haiti, if oil pumping and i gats nuttin then i voting PLP.

I guess Sears has given up aspirations of being PM.

TheMadHatter says...

...and how many pennies per hundred barrels will each Bahamian get in their bank account once the oil is being pumped out?
