Muslim Sharia Law coming to the Bahamas. It has already taken root in Michigan, and Vermont. Lansing Michigan is almost unrecognizable today. You would think you were in Riyadh.
Pure insanity....and possibly worse. Would they give me the "authority" to manage the bridge? I promise to do it for less than half the current management fee.
No. Of course they wouldn't. Too many "line items" would go missing.
Stillwaters ... any Bahamian who wants VAT removed from breadbasket items is a dummy.
They dont understand that if 100 people each contribute $1 you get a total of $100, but if 70 of them say they can only afford to pay 50cents each, then the remaining 30 people have to pay more than $2 each. Trust me they will get tired of paying 4 times as much as most people do.
Haitians of course support the removal of VAT on the only items they buy....that way ALL their food is VAT free. Once again they prove that now more than ever (with one of their own in the House) they are smarter than us.
Free land, free schools, free clinics, no building permits, no VAT, All Aboard !!!
"...suggested the Bahamas follow the lead established by the UK and European Union (EU), and set-up a fund financed by the insurance industry."
NO. There should be an increase of VAT to 8% and this fund should be funded by the $80M that would come from that 1/2%.
There should still be plenty left over to buy tablets for our D students who we prevent from getting an education by our insane qualification requirements for teachers.
Increase VAT to 8% now and require it to go in a separate account with specific areas which it can be spent on. As of now it is just p****d away like the rest of Treasury money....with ZERO accountability. The Leader of Opposition has no authority to see the ledgers.
birdiestrachan says... what about Bahamian young men who cares about them? They to have some stories to tell.
TheMadHatter replies... No Birdie. Our Fox Hill Prison is a wonderful paradise for Bahamians. Only people in the detention center sleep on bare floor and suffer other inhumane treatment. The only thing one can complain about at Her Majesty's (Fox Hill) Prison is the downy pillows have too many feathers.
deddie...We are not "insinuating". We are stating clearly. Bahamians will be the underdogs. Go for a trip to Haiti today and you will see a picture of the Bahamas just a short 15 years from today.
Parliament already is 1/39th taken over, and the growth will be exponential after today's event.
So, i suppose, having heard of how the Bahamas continues to bend over and pick up the soap with regard to the Haitian take-over, the Jamaicans have decided to join the party.
Has government investigated how many of Sterling Global Financial's shareholders are Chinese nationals or Chinese companies directly or fronted by sympathizers or shell corporations.
I have no info but how can we be sure that Sterling is not 75% owned by Hutchinson?

“We are in a position that is uncovered by the Constitution or the law of The Bahamas..."
How can he utter these two sentences which are in complete opposition to each other? Is he an oxy moron? 18 & 19 ... covered. Yes, clearly covered.
Nobody understands majority rule like Haitians. Bahamians are about to be schooled...so it seems.
I guess we await the Appeals Court ruling.
