"We have numerous Bahamians who suffer the ravages of the aforementioned diseases, and should have the option of medicinal marijuana as a form of treatment."
Yes - but they are Bahamians - and it seems we are all born to suffer. Nobody cares about our problems - including those who have them.
I would bet that at least 70% of those suffering as described above, still pay their tithes in church every Sunday. Paying money to that SAME church who says that God made a mistake when he created 2 of the many plants on this Earth. Of all the hundreds of thousands of plants, only 2 mistakes is a pretty good batting average. However, those same people profess that God is perfect and in Genesis 1:12 after He created the plants He "saw that it was good".
However, maybe He did make a mistake. The church has so decided. Maybe they have a paraphrase on another part of the Gospel where Jesus said if your donkey falls in a well on the Sabbath you may pull him out? Maybe He meant we should let him drown? Maybe he meant that if a Bahamian is suffering the ravages of cancer and epilepsy we should left him suffer?
God gave us the solution. But perhaps He didn't really mean to.
Freeport needs government to get out of the way of the Port Authority, and also both of them to prohibit any future investment of any kind by any business even remotely connected to China. Also they need to put the squeeze on and force current ones to sell.
Alicia Wallace: Don’T Blame Us, Mr Johnson. Ms. Wallace - this is the best article (in my opinion) you have ever submitted to the Tribune. I almost always disagree with your views, but this time you are right on target. Government management is the problem.
I applaud the strike by NIB this week, and lots of others need to strike. We need a general strike and shut the country down until the government comes up with a spending RULE for the VAT - such as 60% to pay international debt, 20% to education expenses (excluding buildings, roads, fences etc), and 20% to the Courts (to improve the Registry and the horribly inadequate court buildings and equipment). Those figures are just a suggestion.
We should see the monthly submission totals by island & district (Fox Hill, Carmichael, Ragged Island, etc), and the amount spent each month on the approved spending line items - again broken down by district, and thus also see the amount remaining in the Consolidated Fund as yet unspent (which is there due to VAT).
Until we get this info and a law to say this info will be Gazetted each month by the 10th for the previous month - then the strike should continue. I don't think people truly realize how much of a problem not having this information is. It spreads like a fungus to all other areas of our society and is destroying us like a plague.
Sounds like somebody has been visiting yang2020 dot com. Good talking points. Andrew Yang will be the next President of the United States. Election coming in November, stay tuned.
Yes. I agree completely. The sooner the Muslims can finish taking over France and complete their internal destruction, the better for all. France will serve as a dim beacon for all other countries to have good sense not to suffer the same fate. We have this LONE police officer here fighting his Muslim tingumajigg case through the Courts and today vowing to go to the Privy Council with it. Once you get one of those with a foot in the door, it is downhill from there. They are content with the way their countries really suck. Do not be fooled, though. They are not fleeing poverty etc in their countries. Poverty etc does not bother them. They are an invading force, and their have a brilliant public relations campaign, esp. in France where you can be fined by the Courts for even speaking anything negative about them. The mayor of Paris filed a lawsuit a few years ago against Fox News for saying something bad about Muslims after that newspaper shooting.
So if the Shanty Towns are full of Bahamians, someone needs to launch an investigation to find out where all the Haitians in the Bahamas actually live. Let's dispel the rumour with the facts.
We don't need an embassy in France - the telephone has already been invented (along with e-mail, fax, whatsapp, etc). We have to find out where the VAT money gone, before we spend any more of our great-grandchildren's money.
