The REAL issue here is WHY is it necessary to actually be "in power" to have access to the information at the Ministry of Finance. The term "Shadow Minister of Finance" has no value - that person has no authority to obtain ANY information about the peoples' finances. They cannot demand any information, only request it. After they come into power, they spend 2 years trying to find all the things hidden by the prior administration.
Knowing this, however, neither Party will pass legislation giving such authority to shadow ministers. The same way Ingraham would not amend the Rules of the House to allow Members of Parliament to be able to speak in that House on any subject they choose during their allotted time. Thank God Glenys Hannah Martin ignored those rules, even though she was suspended, when the subject came up that cried out for justice. We should all pray that she will win the Leadership position of that wayward Party.
You will never be able to know where you stand in a deal with the Chinese. This is their strategy. They are extremely wise. The western world does not even realize they are in a war with China. The reality will only dawn on them after they lose, and President Chang is sitting in the Oval Office. Actually, I'm not even sure if even then they will realize it.
This is good news, and I hope that all of my comrades here on this commentary board will approach this with a positive attitude and give this team the opportunity to prove themselves. We are all Bahamians first, and their success is our success and visa versa. Hopefully she will ask Mr. Graham Weatherford to attend a meeting in her office with a 2 hour time limit to present his findings and ideas for a way forward. I am sure he would respond as a patriot.
The work permit fee for Haitians should be $15,000 The tax on money transfers to any caribbean country or miami (if it is suspected that the family member in miami will simply forward it to caribbean) should be 100%. Want to send your family $200? Then also pay the Bahamas govt $200 at the same time. So come with $400 in your pocket. All of these private plane charters should be stopped cold. Only Bahamasair should be allowed to land here from Haiti or to Haiti. Also make law that no money or monetary instruments or other valuables exceeding $1000 may go with you to Haiti. All sloops going and coming should be searched. Exceeding $1000 results in a fine of 10x the overrage. No person may travel back and forth to Haiti over 3 times per year or fined $10,000 on 4th time and year in jail on 5th time. This is serious business - well, i mean if we wake up and smell the coffee.
2nd class by Bahamians becoming 2nd majority. They are engaged in a breeding war against Bahamians. Unless Bahamians agree to have 7 children and feed them junk food to eat - then they will lost their own country. It's as simple as that.
So when an MP submits a disclosure report, it is not scanned into a computer at (wherever it is submitted) and then stored (via the network) in the Government's main computer at Ministry of Finance? We actually have hard copies lying about in this country with the risk of being destroyed (with not backup) by BAMSI fires? Do we also have a supply of stone tablets and chisels?

I wish it were that simple. However, there is a reason our public service (generally) is the way it is. It's not a simple thing. It's complex.
