They would do that - except that they do not want anyone to know exactly how many of them they are. If Bahamians knew how large the number was - they would not be able to sleep at night.
Thank you sheeprunner. Glad you agree. Every time i mention this to people they say it is only not yet legalized to feedback into the meters....ie make your meter run backwards. BUT that is only a distraction from the real problem which is that the use of solar panels and any other electricity producing device (except in times of power loss from natural disaster) is illegal. But we all know that in a country whose birthplace was in piracy....the lines between legal and illegal are very gray.
Govt needs to legalize solar power in private homes and businesses. At present everyone thinks it is legal just because everyone is doing it.
They need to start an awareness campaign. I am not buying any panels ans then get threatened the way the number houses were.....thet still waiting on their ACTUAL licenses by the
The government will not allow Freeport to develop because the P.A. is owned by "the white man". This should be obvious to all since the downslide started after Pindling's "...country within a country..." speech decades ago. After 1992 things started downward much faster. That same crew is now in power again. Why hasn't the road been opened up in front of Princess Towers? Why hasn't VAT been abolished in Freeport the very next day that this Govt took office? Why does every shipping container have to pay $50 to the Govt to travel on "The Queen's Highway" in Freeport? Freeport has lost the meaning of "free" in the original plan, and the people of the Bahamas are having to pay the price for all of these silly decisions by Govt against Freeport. Pay. Pay VAT. Pay some more. Keep paying to make up the difference that Freeport used to contribute to the Treasury. I guess if it eventually gets rid of "the white man" it will all be worth it.

Yes Sir. I'm sure all those wondering which food store they are going to get free food to put in their children's lunch boxes are HOPING as well. Hopefully HOPE has a good taste and makes for a full belly.
*Mr D’Aguilar said the cruise lines were already diverting vessels to the Bahamas “of their own volition”,*
Do those "vessels" have names? Does anyone know if they are registered in any ships registry? Does anyone know where they purchased the invisibility paint they are painted with so that nobody can see them? Also, isn't operating an ocean going vessel with invisibility paint a hazard to shipping and quite dangerous?
Deddie i must respectfully disagree. It is our inhumane treatment of people that devalues human life itself. We teach accused criminals that society does not care about their lives - that himan life does not matter....so they act accordingly. Why should they care about not killing someone? You say an unconvicted person should be electrocuted to death or that all police have to do is plant a gun on someone and then they can make them disappear in the bowels of the prison where there are no public records of who is in there....so they can judt be made to disappear. Is this the kind of dictatorship banana republic justice you are advocating?
Why not reduce them by 10% by 2018??? Tired of hearing about pie in the sky a zillion years from now.
Also why the hell new govt aint yet push a bulldozer thru Princess Towers in Freeport and opened uo that damned road? What they waiting on? Next election?
Mr Turnquest please try send one dozer there tomorrow please.
I agree with watcher. More so, i think ALL further investigations on all fraud should now STOP until the bunch a dem we done find are prosecuted and dealt with.
Tired of hearing all kind of names but no prosecution.
Just let them go free and stop wasting newspaper ink.
So we let serious crime people out with ankle bracelets and keep petty theft and possession of one joint people in jail. Then we wonder about overcrowding? LOL. Is there a Stupid University somewhere that we graduated from?
Also arent we a signatory to some UN Convention on Human Rights? If so then why arent people who are sentenced to prison in Nassau given the option of death by firing squad? To deny that is inhumane to our people.
Ohdrap.....what about the LNG barge to tie in to PI Bridge junction? He has a lot more solutions than just solar. What about stopping the tens of thousands of gallons of fuel oil that simply drain into the ocean every month? What about getting our real generators working instead of using more expensive diesel half the time? What about doing electricity repairs between 9am & 5pm if the break then...instead of a break at 10am having to wait until 6pm to fix so we pay overtime surcharge? What about......? Wait. Im not getting paid a CEO salary. Let me be quiet. Besides, you've already been convinced there are no alternatives.
