Freeport, once a jewel in the Bahamas, contributing like crazy to the Treasury, is now near death.

If the Port owners were to sell (or give) the Port Authority to Haitians, the Govt would remove all taxes including VAT from Freeport, and pave the streets with gold tomorrow. It's really that simple.

You must be careful, Sir, the Constitution prohibits any disparaging remarks about the Courts. You will notice that in all my numerous remarks on here, I never speak about the Courts in any fashion. I hold them in the utmost regards.

It is true that anyone can be falsely arrested at any time due to some clerical error, or otherwise. The only thing we can do is keep a small jar of Vaseline in our pockets at all times. The situation is no different in the US or many other "civilized" countries.

I am amazed that we don't have a 5th referendum item to allow same-sex activities at the prison - just in case there might be any taking place there.

This is great news seeing that no Bahamians have any light bills or water bills or bank payments due until at least October. Hey and don't even think about food - we all know where the free food stores are.

Heck, why not just delay it for three more years?

Similar things were probably said about Abraham Lincoln and Lyndon Johnson - U.S. Presidents who lifted up the negro to have equal rights. Perhaps in the Bahamas, the negro should lose all their rights again and ride in the back of the bus? Bahamians are so narrow minded - and have such short memories of when they were without rights. Perhaps a reminder is in order.

Maybe England will take us back over (they can by just revoking the Independence Order of their Parliament) - and take away the rights of all blacks - for a season, until they grow up and appreciate that all humans should have fundamental rights.

Jesus came preaching brotherly love to all (even sinners and tax collectors). I believe if He came here tomorrow, many of these pastors would run out quick and start nailing together a new cross to hang him on. This is because they believe they know more about God's creations than even He does.

It's like in the 80's when Govt implemented a "Bahamianization" of the teaching profession, by taking away the work permits of teachers from Canada, UK, Australia, etc. and bringing in teachers from Jamaica and Guyana. This was sold as giving Bahamians teaching jobs. LOL. We can see the D- result.

Currently the same is happening with Freeport and the Port, where the unwritten rule is to get rid of the "European" owners. The only good thing there is that unlike the teaching thing where the average went from a B to a D-, Freeport is already an F, so it can't get any worse - LOL.

The sad fact is that nobody is going to give 100 cents on the dollar like Sarkis. Seeing how the rug can be pulled out from under you as an investor, there is nobody stupid enough to offer what he is offering.

The Chinese need to be grateful to receive full payment on their debt (which is literally a miracle), and take their Yuan and go home.

Let the pastors donate one of their big church buildings to BTVI or COB first.

This nonsense as we continue to await the 10 new courts to come online. Will we ever see them? Not under the regular two parties, for sure.

Also why no amendment put forth in the current group of amendments to REMOVE the limit on the number of Supreme Court Justices allowed to exist under the law? At least raise the limit to 15 or 20.
