If I were you two guys, I would tone down my words against the next Prime Minister of the Bahamas. The two persons who run that party (and I won't mention their names because I don't have proof) - have already made the decision.
They are supported in that decision by the deputy leader of the FNM and the deputy leader of the DNA (along with the people's choice for PM, Loretta Butler) - all three have stated they do not wish for the FNM and DNA to combine forces - so - in other words - the PLP will win election with only 40% of the vote, fnm 35%, dna 25%.
No point in having an election. The result has been pre-ordained (or perhaps some other unmentionable method?)
Just predictable Bahamian politics. Any and all other options are on the table and likely - except for everyone putting forth and supporting the best person for the job of PM - Obie Wilchcombe - a man who actually cares about people, and has the connections (knows everyone) to get the job done. Of course, in our country, the right answer is simply not allowed.
My friend, let me tell you, the support of the DNA is much more than people talking. People ain't going to these polls to vote for the same old fools no more. PLP talking about making Sears leader - ha ha ha ha ha. So funny.
Absolutely correct. I cannot tell you how very very disappointed I was to just read this position coming from Loretta. I always envisioned her at PM with Bran as DPM.
She has to realize that the DNA has TONS and TONS of support. The people are very sick of these old dead tired politicians and the young people will not vote for more of the same.
Young people are going to come out and vote this time. Yes I know they usually do not. But I have been talking like crazy for months and I can tell you there are many many young and dynamic Bahamians that are beyond sick of the old foolishness.
Like a friend a mine say about the politicians who gonna come to her door during the election campaign; "i got a hot pot of piss waitin for them"......LOL
Correct on all counts. If the PM rang the bell today, the PLP would be returned to power - not because people like not having jobs, but simply because the FNM and DNA provide no alternative. The FNM proved they are not democratic by electing a quiet chairman, and the DNA continues to claim they can't get 2 or 3 hundred people in the same room to hold a party leaders election. People aint gonna check for either of them, except a few Papa worshipers and few other people who just don't know any better.
Government will not allow FPO to prosper as long as Port is owned by "white people from England."
Freeport, once a jewel in the Bahamas, contributing like crazy to the Treasury, is now near death.
If the Port owners were to sell (or give) the Port Authority to Haitians, the Govt would remove all taxes including VAT from Freeport, and pave the streets with gold tomorrow. It's really that simple.
