And from May 2nd this year, the Tribune reported:

POLICE are investigating the death of a woman found hanging from a tree early on Saturday morning in New Providence.

According to reports, around 6.30am, police received information that a woman has been found dead at Skyline Drive and when officers arrived at the scene they were met by the lifeless body of a female hanging from a tree. The woman was pronounced dead at the scene. An autopsy will be performed to determine the exact cause of death and investigations are ongoing.

Dr van de Weerdt said on Monday. "But positively, we believe that exposure has not resulted in long-term health effects."

Of course it has not resulted in long-term health effects, because a "long-term" has not yet passed. Duh.

It probably won't go forward until the Govt agrees to that thing Ryan Pinder was talking about last week where we have to be able to use and trade the Chinese currency here in the Bahamas.

As I've said before, that was one very expensive free sports stadium.

It says there was a "notice" in today's paper from the Bridge Authority. I didn't see the paper, so don't know.

Trust me - you will never see a listing of what amounts were spent on what for this twenty million.

This is what these kind of people (MPs) just consider us giving them a "tip" like at a restaurant. Keep your eye out for the new cars and the house renovations over the next 6 months..

Nice sounding words - but apparently this has not been a priority for him. Instead he has been focused on getting that additional 8 cents added to the bridge toll. Where does he find the spare time, one must wonder?

So instead of reducing the sentences on the books for petty minor drug possession, and instead of putting in place the additional courts we were promised to move cases quickly so that many persons in remand can be released on probation etc. - they decide instead to

1. Burden the people with another $20 million in debt;

2. Keep putting minor drug offenders in jail (because we know the Church will not allow them to do otherwise;

3. Increase public spending by now having to hire a mess of parole officers;

4. Do all of this without any kind of budget on how the $20 million will be spent - that is why he couldn't answer that question;

5. Have no single Ministry responsible for the money - so that when it is all gone - nobody will be accountable for it - that's why 3 ministries were mentioned.

I wonder if they tried a little harder, if they could have come up with an even worse plan???

Why don't they just stop putting people in jail for no good reason all the time? That might be something to consider? No - much too simple a solution for their taste (and no money grease either).

This only was allowed to happen because stores would not agree to work together on the issue. The simple solution would be to put in the application (say for a rep from Kellogg's) - and then STOP ordering all Kellogg's products until the application is approved and in hand.

But of course, if one store did this - all the others stores would just increase their orders to take up the slack and say to themselves "Well if that fool don't wanna sell cereal, we ga sell it".

That is how we as Bahamians continuously stab each other in the backs, and why we deserve to lose our country to those immigrants who come here and work together as a team.

United we stand, divided we fall - and brother let me tell ya - we fallin' fast.
