I agree with Bran. In fact, I would go so far as to say that Aug 11th is the very earliest possible date for it to open. Yes, August 11th - for sure. Yessiree-Bob.
He is tight lipped - but frankly the only thing that could make most of those high class guests come there now would be a FULLY paid for vacation - no hotel bill, hotel covers airline costs, free food and everything while here.
Even then, some of them will decline because they just don't suffer fools well.
I doubt the hotel would do that, though, because they have already shown how silly they are; so I'm guessing they would rather try to save that million or so dollars in rebates/cost covering and instead lose a billion dollar hotel. Yeah, that makes sense - LOL.
If only he could be put in charge of the Min of Finance. I guess they would never do that though, cause he would weed out the bad apples there and we might have to expand the jail again.
If the model is going to mirror NAD - which has no intercom system in the new (domestic) airport where airlines and other parties can page someone no matter where they are in the airport - what then obvious and expected facility/function will be missing from the newly updated/fixed power plants?
If only they would. If only the "church people" would organize a GIANT march down Bay Street - with about 10,000 people (there have got to be more than that many people who go to church in Nassau) - with signs and chants demanding that this foolishness be fixed and that it be fixed yesterday.
But instead they stand up in there and say let us sing the hymn #173 "Bringing in the Sheep." Meanwhile, those in power laugh all of the way to bank, saying "Look at all those STUPID sheep, working so hard at their jobs, going without good food and vitamins and proper health care, and without the things that they really need - just so they can pay money to US through their BEC bills and other ways - so that we don't have to go without anything." God bless them.
Never knew that Social Service office was open at 10pm. They must be the only Govt office besides the police and the PHM baby delivery room that are open at that hour.
We are in a difficult situation in this country, because we cannot increase (like double) the social service budget because that would only double the number of illegal migrants that come here to drain it. Remember "children" cannot be turned away.
There are 12 million of them, and only 250,000 of us - that is a 48-to-1 ratio. A prescription for a lost battle.
Bahamians would still get the same service they get now if the social service budget was doubled. Do I need to describe what "service" that is?

Yep - that's all it is for - more money for Haitians. More Haitian babies. More medicine for Haitians.
I wonder if they think that the peoples' patience will NEVER run out?

Agree, how many times do employees arrive to work and find a layoff notice and the place locked up. They did better than that.
It is very sad for those employees, still.
