The Christian Council is way out of control in this country. Bahamians help them every Sunday by putting money in the plate.
The article says "saying the scant attire could lead to “fornication, promiscuity, rape incest” and other “sins of the flesh.”
These things you mean will just start to occur in the Bahamas? What planet have they been living on? These are the same people who opposed the protection again rape of a married woman by her husband - like they are some kind of Muslims?
If they are so upset about the appearance of the human body they should complain to the manufacturer.
Maybe George Smith will get a dictionary for his birthday as a present from a caring friend or family member. In there he can look up the word "democracy", and expand his mind into a whole new realm.
One MP's vote in the House won't destroy our Constitution.
In addition, the things reported and the things he says are not even the real news. The real truth (which he won't say) is that he is surrendering the country to Mexico, Guatemala, China, and Cuba.
A new flag will soon be designed and hoisted up the mast. And boy don't let nobody get upset about it - only racists would do that - right?
Nobody watches State of the Union speeches anymore, because everything that the prez is going to say and who any special guests in the audience are going to be etc etc etc etc etc etc etc etc etc is ALL spilled by the media the day before and some of it days beforehand.
If what he says is true, then he should not have made the public comments that he has made. I like him a lot and believe he does excellent work everyday, but in this case whenever he was questioned on the matter by the media or anyone - he should have simply said "I must refer you to the Police Services Commission which has authority in this matter."
He should not even have said whether or not he disagreed with the wedding. Just REFER people to the legal authority.
Yeah, everyone should know that Mr. Sumner is correct. The problem is not VAT !!!! The problem is Perry and Hubert borrowing money from IDB.
Just last week Perry was in China again talking about borrowing more money - that's this month now after vat is here to try and pay down existing debt.
Excellent point about the duty etc. - but allow me to remind you that our Constitution does not allow us to say anything disparaging about the Courts. Please be careful in this regard. You could end up prosecuted for such statements.
As a result, whenever the issue of Courts and their activies comes up with me - I always tell people that here in the Bahamas we have one of the best court systems in the world. They do an excellent job, and I would not be surprised if other countries often liase with our officials here and visit to take notes and learn from their excellent performance in this field.

Correct. If only all Christian Council people could be deported to Uganda or Tazmania or somewhere, the Bahamas could begin to enter the 21st century.

Amazing how everyone tries to make some new terminology sound important by giving it an acronym. "ADR". What the heck is that?
Maybe I should make one for wiping my butt - I'll call it "WMB". Wow, now that sounds important too.
