Hold on, 8 from 12 leaves 4.......
Have we lost them already?
And yes, we do owe ALL of the international NGO's and organizations that have jumped in
without question or reservation, with some making commitments for up to a year on the ground.
Samaritans Purse is incredible in how they function, from a field hospital to repairing shelters and roofs.
There is no end to their operational scope.

The_Oracle says...

Do they have any clue as to how stupid this report makes them look?
And they are going to "take over" the EOC in Abaco?
Why? the people who established it have 1000 fold the capability of NEMA and the Government.
This reads like a 4th grade "what i did this summer" report.
Man this is sad.

A pathetic token donated to a pointless entity.
NEMA, a few civil service individuals with a few defense force officers (anyone seen them?) complaining about the free food served to them from foreign relief kitchens.
(Harsh? Has anyone seen the ghost ship NEMA?)
A dozen or more people sitting at computers (when they're not having meetings) does not a disaster response organization make.

60 pages of drivel. Canadian Electrical code covers installation regimen and requirements.
Either you let people do it or you don't. This damn Government disease of "control" and
"restrict" is killing our country is all regards.

The_Oracle says...

Insurance companies are complicit in these wrecked vehicles returning to service by paying off a lower value with the owner "buying the wreck" back.
At first, in the duty free exemption for Abaco and GB for replacement vehicles Customs supposedly takes possession but the insurance companies balked at that.
Customs has reverted to being satisfied of a settled claim/write off but again, Insurance companies must not re-sell or they'll all be on the roads.

This pure unmitigated garbage in all three regimens of Solar integration they present for consideration are not worth arguing against. A turd is a turd is a turd no matter the beast it came from.
Do not step in it.
Having said that perhaps an injunction against URCA is in order. Followed by legal arguments
against their new view of conducting business and trade rules and rules of property rights etc.
I'm not raising chickens to have to give them to BEC/BPL for them to mark up the price based on their defunct business models and waste and costs to have to buy them back at a 70% markup!
It is my power, my property and have the power to keep, sell, or waste as I see fit.
BPL/BEC has been doing just that for decades as well as cutting it off all the time!
These people are either in collusion with BEC/BPL or have allowed BEC/BPL to wrap them around their little finger.
Example is their 10% solar to grid ratio not to be exceeded.
Germany has hit 100% alt energy supply a few times with Germans paid to consume, and other interconnected countries getting power for free.
Hawaii, Calif and other jurisdictions etc have exceeded 30% renewable without issue.
If BEC has an issue it is again their problem coming home to roost.
BEC/BPL solvency is Government problem, not an URCA problem.

I understand PLM is collecting rent / revenue insurance payments so they are just fine.
A disgrace really. Damage is minimal at Port Lucaya.

The_Oracle says...

Pathetic reporting. Confusing and contradictory.
Do they not have a dipstick?
You're right hatter, it smells and not of crude.

The_Oracle says...

Dunno what happened to the Carbon War room/100 island challenge that were looking at ragged island infrastructure but odds are it got stuck in some committee staffed by Political appointees Min of works, BEC/BPL/ etc. Sad. was a dead project before it started.

Above are both correct, Current NEMA heads are clueless to the processes proven and developed in Francis, Jean, Wilma, Matthew, remembered and improved by the private sector, which has to reiterate to current Government Place holders. (I exclude Joaquin as I did not experience it or aftermath)
I met a Government Tortoise today, not gonna say which dept.
Told him what I was there to get, how to produce it, and his head sucked into his shell and refused to come out.
Paralytic. Amenable enough but his mental hard drive crashed.
the 5 year cycle strikes again.
Things are getting done but could've been 5 times faster and smoother in my experienced opinion.
