Crazy, if one were to steal 41,000 odd gallons of oil or whatever, how do you transport it and how would you pump it offsite?
This ain't no BEC diesel theft over the course of years via a tapped line 5 gallons at a time, this is 40 odd thousand gallons in one shot!

Sad thing is we do (or did) have public decency laws on the books, which aught to be enforced by the police. Write 'em up, let them pay a fine.
Immigration is crossing a line with regards to denial of service. This but one inevitable result of the failure of self governance/personal responsibility, personal pride.

This administration is changing far too much at once, without any clue as to the ramifications on any single change made.
They claim consultations, but the real question is with whom?
I realize they're receiving instructions from the IMF/WTO et al, but Government cannot tax themselves into prosperity.

Undeliverable because of bad post marks or because those letter have been swimming/flooded in the Post office building?
Pathetic. Can't even deliver the damn mail in the Bahamas. Th most basic and straight forward and original of all basic Government services. Really is indicative of the decline over the decades.

The_Oracle says...

That the dress code in the Bahamas has gone down the toilet is not in question,
what is in question are these arbitrary rules imposed without notice or rationale that can be outlined on inquiry. This is half the problem, few civil servants can elucidate on the rules, never mind entertain a discussions on the purpose of the rules.
Which is exactly why the public is left at the whim of idiocy and the "bad hair day mentality"

Funny how our Government, which has ruled by "do as we say not as we do"
is now being told the same by the wto/imf/oecd/eu-epa/idb/fatf

The_Oracle says...

If they put as much energy (pardon the pun) into action as they put in spin and kickbacks, we wouldn't have half the problem we now have in the first place.
BEC/BPL is a case study in legacy incompetence and political meddling by ALL Administrations.
Meanwhile, the pot calls the kettle black. At least they have heat!
Stupidity pointing at cluelessness. And still no fixed National Policy.
PM says hotels etc aught to go ahead and do solar, but BEC/BPL hasn't seen that memo
I'll bet.

Another gift from China? Truly down to trading baubles with the natives, wonder what besides $$ it will cost us all?

While I agree with Bahamian involvement, BEAAP members are "signing off" on drawings and plans created elsewhere, and thus are a part of the problem. Legislation is only as good as its enforcement.Another case of slitting your own throat to spite another.
Inserting yourselves by force means there may be a serious reduction in such projects.
Catch 22.

The_Oracle says...

It is understood that all this new legislation and regulations are oecd, wto, eu-epa, imf requirements, and under constant pressure to implement, but these people have no idea the hit this country is going to take, and what it will lose in the process.
Much like every new edict issued from whichever Government dept that discovers an itch that it decides to scratch.
Look at the recent Min. of agriculture and it's out of the blue unannounced "enforcement" of rules for importation of Meats for personal consumption. Fine, the rules have always been in place but Completely unenforced for decades!
I seriously believe these civil servants wake up and decide they're gonna mess with people!
I am now reconsidering a business venture that is badly needed in the Bahamas, but until the dust and confusion clears, who can make any decision?
Who would?
