Biggest threat to critical transport and infrastructure is the Government itself. As to resiliency and disaster mitigation, total fail there also. Every time a disaster hits they mangle and mismanage it. No Field Manual, new civil servants with no experience every single time. The NEMA act just creates an additional bureaucracy that also doesn't know what to do. $370k can't help them.
A documented oil spill followed by oil on the beaches within two weeks, during which time the winds were from the south, blowing it ashore. No oil for decades before. The oil is soft and goopy, IE fresh. Some sinks, some floats. Could a tanker have flushed their tanks? sure. and what of the silence from Buckeye , no denial nor admission. And the apparent understatement of the amount spilled?
Soft tar is on the beaches east of the terminal. A lot of tar. People and dogs cannot avoid stepping in it. It is probably on the beaches west also but not confirmed. A couple barrels my foot. (Covered in tar)
Wouldn't be the fist Prime minister to have or take issue with the Port Authority, nor will he be the last, of that I'm sure. the problem is, he is trying to unravel a very convoluted situation created by al those who went before. The real question is, does he even know what he is trying to fix? The odds are against that. So throw rocks he does, while running away. Ball is in your court chief. Tread carefully.
While we are still scratching our heads on this and trying our damndest to make it difficult, news reports indicate the VRBO/Airbnb market after causing a lot of long term rental/lease shortage in the U.S. is now crashing, which will negatively affect the real Estate market.
Entering Paris France, Easy and no checking luggage or incoming goods. Same at Manchester England. Most seizures of contraband are the result of intelligence gathering/profiling. We are obviously in short supply of those commodities.
None of them follow the law pertaining to and curtailed by their lawful authority, they all assume some mythical Power and always abuse the same. And how does claiming all have done wrong prior somehow allow the practice to be excusable? The Norm? So much for a new day......
