The only difference is the size of their thievery/misappropriation.
Ever increasing.

Small price to pay? easy to say when all you have to do is "take $$" from the whole working population.
Anyway, we all knew since its inception it wouldn't be long before it would be broke.
Grubby greedy Government hands can't leave anything alone. Fixing problems that don't exist, ignoring real issues. If Government ran a liquor store it would have to be subsidized like BPL/Bahamasair.

The_Oracle says...

BPL is the ultimate Government "kick the can down the road"Both Parties.
This M.P. jumps up with a legitimate gripe, then proceeds to disgrace himself by claiming it is the other Party's fault. Andrew wonder why we cannot get ahead.
And yet we sit here with a half measured/protect BPL Solar policy......
Idiots can only run an Idiocracy.

Annual boat registration costs can be counted on to increment, but not following the prior fee schedule which stated boats 40-49 would incur $ 7000 for first time, $1650 per year thereafter, this states $100 to $120. Simple question, which is it? Or if there are two rates, what delineates them?🤦🏼‍♂️

Laws to compound laws not enforced. Definitely becoming a police state

Love how Mitchell cherry picks certain provisions completely out of context.
Also love how Government and Port have ignored the provisions for licensee consent to changes, and the ultimate provision, for the Licensees to take over the administration post Developer exit.
Does the Government make more money from Freeport in Taxes than it cost them to provide services? if not, there is a mechanism in place for that, but, could the government even show costs vs. revenue? They have never wanted to.
Agreements are worthless if the two signatories either ignore their responsibilities with the third sidelined and periodically sideswiped by Government.

Would be better off banning Vegetable oils, which are in fact highly processed and unstable seed oils high in omega 6. Omega 3 is healthy, 6 is not.
Far worse than sugar. However far more troubling is a Government inserting more and more "control" over the daily lives and choices people make.
Not liking this New direction for the Bahamian people.

There is a lot of confusion in this situation,
You have private and commercial vessels, Bahamian owned and foreign owned,
Not sure if this is being applied to one or all the above. I will say i've never paid more than $100 for my 42ft bahamian vessel. per the above, it will now be $1600?
Also, here, Maury is complaining (perhaps rightfully so) but at the other daily he is expanding on the benefits? Like everything Government legislates is so confusing......and usually completely misses the mark.
Road traffic amendment is the same, the President of the car rental assn. explains a valid concern but that is not what the act says. The road to hell is paved in good intentions.

Masters of unintended consequences,

No clue what these idiots are thinking but they are wrong, as always. Take a marginal economy and flush it down the drain.
Here we go down Jamaica road, or as Marley said, "EXODUS"
