First, there will be no ministry of Grand Bahama. A waste and to date a pure slush fund ministry. Second, The H.C.A. has been successful at withstanding Government attacks and meddling and attempts to target specific business interests since 1968, however it has not even partially fulfilled its potential for the country. In effect the Government is attempting to insert itself via legislation, a subversive act that almost succeeded. Thank God for Wednesday!
No, but Government has been trying to kill it since 1967! Can't even get that right, thankfully. However, with various and sundry Political leader and civil servants taking personal grudges it is no wonder the "Magic" is gone. Eroded by Port ownership laying politics, and politicians bought and owned in the typical 5 year cycle. Coupled with incompetent and absent ownership, renewed government interference in spite of being smacked by the courts on numerous occasions, the pressure to collapse builds. What is it about "hands off" that drives these Government people so bats? Like a child told not to touch the Vase on the table, they get fixated and driven to defy and destroy.

This tit for tat between parties and supporters shows the lack of brain power in the Bahamas, however, realize one thing: Minnis is the first leader of the FNM who was not formerly a PLP, and may well be the First Prime Minister who was not a former PLP! That alone moves us forward. And I hope he does.
