Absolutely BMW, if they get minimal employment out east I'd be surprised! These cruise line bosses are always "one upping" each other with concessions from our Governments! Remote is exactly what they want. Perhaps the 20 year exemption from Property taxes for the Port Authority and Hutchinson (but not licensees) was enough for them to release their Exclusivity for ports on the Island of Grand Bahama? I'd like to see those documents!
Shameless miscreants. Is there no lower ethical boundary they will not cross? Do not fall for it! It is all over due, and delayed by those who would now act like it is a gift!
So, I hear Govt will "reimburse" Fyre Festival Vendors for their losses, can GB Karnyval Vendors be far behind? "In 2016, the event drew over 16,000 spectators, and 18,000 at its debut in 2015 in Grand Bahama." This is plain lying. No way, No how.
I still say follow the $$ trail, it will lead to a local door! Nowhere in the world has there been such a disaster of such an event. If the U.S. lawsuits proceed as already lodged, the truth may out!
No doubt they "injected" Darville's election coffers with plenty $$, Which is what it is all about. Let the Locals get drunk and forget how horribly they're governed! The whole "carnival" concept shows there is no vision or inspiration within leadership. Injections can't help a terminal patient!
Mc Farland and Ja Rule were in the Exumas months before hustling existing boutique resorts for accommodations etc. Most people told them they were crazy. My question: Did those USAID Disaster relief tents come from NEMA storage? Follow the $$, you'll find who "waived" red tape or "facilitated" this fiasco. Grand Bahama couldn't handle 12,000 tourists right now!
This debacle hopped thru a few different islands before arriving in Georgetown. Just the Garbage alone would be a logistical nightmare. Meanwhile I understand those "disaster relief" tents are indeed and are owned by NEMA. Follow the money honey! We've time for a few more pre-election scams!
Where fools rush in......... All for the same crappy healthcare offered at the same Government facilities currently in operation or falling down! All paid for by the tax payer out of the broke treasury. The only change is now you will have to beg a GD politician for healthcare. Damn we are gullible.
