Can be sure none of the incumbent PLP candidates are spending their foreign held pillaged Money!
Campaign finance laws means internal accountability as much as public accountability.

Funny how we think we're so first world, with all the "bling",
While we compete to get to the bottom of the 3rd world ladder!
Private sector better grow some teeth, get together and stand for something other than wealth preservation. It will all be consumed by Governments with no other fiscal targets!

With reduced returns on investment to repatriate back to Canada,
What do you expect? Much like bleeding foreign reserves for fuel costs, the Canadian Banks have been bleeding the economy for decades, ain't much left and too much liability.
Adios!

The_Oracle says...

Can you believe any word on any subject from these people?
Thinking your "negotiating" while getting lip service is the height of stupid.
Your presence in the room or on the committee is taken as your consent.

That's it, reduce average Bahamians to putting quarters in a meter for Electricity and water.
Boy, we really have come a long way.
Meanwhile, Mr. L.Miller has been testing the new Free Electric plan for years, has worked great for him.

The_Oracle says...

The more "Freebies" they give or promise, the more someone else's costs go up,
and those ones are watching, and leaving.
Interest capped loan costs will go on someone else's bill, if they're still around.
Keep on trucking, you're winning the race to the bottom!

The_Oracle says...

So, in order to get the Governments attention pre-election time, you know, to get your piece, your promises,
You inconvenience the traveling public and your revenue stream (tourists?)
I swear we are the dumbest bunch ever to be given the opportunity to crap in our own hats!

The_Oracle says...

Not the first time this has been suggested, and it has potential save the fact that many already foreign second home owners here are leaving! Medical facilities are not first rate, but better than out islands, not quite as good as Nassau. 3rd rate food stores.
As for a conference, I think G.B. is conferenced out. Much talk, no action.

The "appeasement" approach is showing......
Well Mudda take sic is right. We kicked the VAT tax implementation down the road from 2008 to 2015, finally yielding to increasing pressure to implement by the IMF.
But duty rates have until 2015 to be reduced to 8-10%, to WTO standard rates.
I believe real property tax will happen by 2018. income etc by 2020.
Kicking and screaming into the 21st century with stone age management!

The_Oracle says...

The IMF can tell us what to do because we have borrowed an average of $50 million a year from them for near 50 years! It was the IMF who devalued the Jamaican currency.
