With all the lawsuits triggered by Licensees in self defense, (all won by licensees)
how can one think there is anything but some underhanded move afoot?
Besides the fact they're trying to lock in either a status quo or expansion commitment,
while exempting those who on the face of it they say need to develop build and invest the vast property they own?
Wake up man,

The Silence from the GBPA is deafening, evidencing Self preservation at its finest.
With second foreign homeowners listing properties daily, this is the last thing the government aught to be considering.
Isn't the VAT money enough for their slush funds and pockets?

To bring this to the surface, the "application" for concessions already enjoyed by statutory right are now available, less than a month prior to the deadline for applying.
Herein lies the real thrust: if 80% of licensees sign and submit applications, they are de facto providing the 80% licensee agreement needed to alter/amend or kill the H.C.A.
Can't say it couldn't be seen coming.
Transferring the granting of concessions from a statutory agreement right to a Government ministers power is folly, giving said minister the power to grant and revoke at will.
Licensees signing onto this give full consent to political persecution and pillaging.
A sad end, with businesses left to their own demise.

Obvious who they want to spy on, Election coming up!
Dangerous legislation in the wrong hands, a necessary evil with much needed oversight and accountability.

To hell with the fees, branch closures and layoffs have the public standing in line for literally hours! Banks are to be avoided like the plague! Someone aught to sell sandwiches and bottled water to people standing in line! that and the staff all seem to be multitasking and therefore following up on nothing!
Missing bank cards, Credit Cards, wrongly printed checks, banks have become a crap shoot!
Tellers and staff must go home feeling as if they've run a marathon every day!
Betcha the service is better in Barbados or wherever the hell they've moved the HQ to.

All legislation passed since 1992 has included summary conviction with penalties,
Laws amended and passed by both FNM and PLP governments. Not that I ever want to be convicted by a Judge but to be convicted by a political minister of government is particularly disturbing. Constitutional rights mean nothing apparently.

They're just following the well worn path towards tools for political persecution and totalitarian Governance, easily accomplished when you can target political opposition, enemies of the party (note I said party, not state) and anyone else you don't like.
The press should be absolutely screaming and railing against this, as should every right thinking private citizen.
The road they're intent on is almost impossible to come back from or survive.

The issue with tankless is the very hard water we have drastically shortens the life span of the unit.
Added to increased ampacity wire size and breaker swap out costs, I don't see them as viable.
Talk solar water heating, or heat pump for real savings longer term.
While external solar water heating is also subject to scale build up, and general UV damage,
My favorite remains the heat pump, drawing 500W vs. 4500W for conventional electric.
Nice byproduct of heat pump? about 5-6000Btu of AC !
Still good to read your articles, education is Key. (no pun intended!)

I wish they could have expanded the article to include whether pensioners who have direct deposit were affected.
In one persons case pension direct deposit covers private Med insurance payments. If that check bounces, insurance cancelled!
Does anyone else notice the government increasing difficulty in doing the simplest things?

Just like every lie, deceit and unfulfilled promise made, it will never work, and will stress what barely works now.
But they don't care about that any more than the national debt, or crime.
It is easy to say the Government is corrupt, the government is incompetent,
but it is the people in government at fault, the individuals who pocket the money,
when those individual people are held accountable, things will change.
Until then, be prepared to die from a hang nail!
