Potential complainants are probably still in jail !
A sad day with videos showing protesting in ignorance and ill trained police officers.
Two wrongs do not make right!

The_Oracle says...

Create? No, the PLP has created the hostility.
Take advantage of? Perhaps, but that is the nature of the dirty game you all play.

Does someone actually Want to become Haitian or move clear across the globe to become a Phillipino?
BTW, Fred is a hybrid Bahamian just like the damn rest of us, be they first or 10th gen Bahamian, including former P.M's and sitting Cabinet ministers.
Count the number of other "Bahamians" fighting for the rule of law in this country,
Most are pillaging the country under the guise of "government service".
The other Fred used to have a point or two, briefly, before St. George sent him to college,
must've been a degree in "Mugabism"
Meanwhile, the Chinese have bought and paid the PLP for your souls,
wait'll they come to collect!

"Gentle Nudge"? Outright begging and prostration is no doubt the real strategy,
and ain't working.
The Chinese must've seen these idiots coming miles away, and are no doubt amused at each return!
Meanwhile the Convention is postponed as it was no doubt planned to be staged at Bahamar.... maybe around 2020.

Courage? More like fiscal strangulation. He was fine with all the shenanigans of the last 30 plus years as the money was rolling in, now that the lawyers feel the pinch they weigh in? A bit late and he is still a dollar short!

The cruise ship operators do not want synergies, they want private gated facilities or islands that they operate with ship staff and ship supplies, with tax exemptions from government.
As we bend over backwards to comply without protest, why not?
They get everything they ask for.

The_Oracle says...

To say that Government has had no role in the decay of Freeport is disingenuous,
Their latest "push" is no exception.
Both political parties have had their way with the Port Authority ownership, all the while undermining the agreement itself, to the detriment of Bahamian licensees more so than Foreign licensees.
Foreign licensees just leave when it is no longer viable to be there.
That something needs to happen is obvious, that Government intervention could be beneficial is ludicrous.
Much complicity within the legal fraternity, political fraternity was fine when both groups were making money was no problem,
have things dried up sufficiently for them to now grumble?

And this is why the country will end in ruin, but it won't hurt them, PLP or FNM politicians,
their nest eggs are secured in foreign banks,
It will only destroy the damn fool Bahamians who voted for either, bought into the game,
believed either bunch was doing anything but screwing the country over.
Incapable of self control, ethical behavior, honesty.
Easy for personalities of either ilk to laud themselves above the other when none can stand tall.

The_Oracle says...

I think what he is really saying is they intend to try to force the repatriation of Bahamian held abroad funds, and BISX is the Vehicle to get that done.
As in TIEA agreements are yielding much information on what Bahamians are holding in foreign banks,
as well as assets abroad.
Seems local taxes will not satisfy the insatiable Government Master.

NHI has nothing to do with healthcare:
It is everything to do with increasing revenue by any and all taxation means possible, under every guise that can be conceived.
Healthcare will not improve over the "free healthcare" already in place in the Bahamas.
Private sector healthcare will get more expensive, and suffer a degradation in quality also.
Already the Government is pushing pharmacies to use knockoff Medications exclusively, to give the appearances of reduced costs.
That which is "free" is always in short supply.
To make up for the loss (brain drain) of Bahamian doctors, more doctors will be imported from the countries we already seek hospital and clinic staff from, with the reduced payroll costs implied.
