Do not hold out any hope that the BEC process is any more transparent, It has also suffered politically motivated delays, takes time to get a piece of the action!
Can we get an emissions check on the City dump first please? Another sticker which will rise in price annually. What are they gonna do when half the vehicles in the Bahamas fail? $20 per sticker?
Freeport Harbor is a Private Harbor, unique in that respect. However, standards must be observed and adhered to, presumably the regulator is the Port Authority, not the Government, There lies the problem. Once again, the regulator is inept. Not that Govt would be any better.
Nothing more than a Caribbean "hat in hand" exercise, with accompanying attitude. Perhaps the peoples of the Caribbean nations aught to sue their own leaders for mental and economic slavery, as each country has damn near ruined itself post Colonization. We are next.
Education HAS been used as a weapon for change, against the youth of this nation and for decades! Bahamian kids have not been taught to think for themselves, rather have been taught by rote with no questioning allowed. Getting slapped down and kept down at every turn by parents, teachers, and principals has taught the exact opposite of what is needed.
Hah! coming out early to make sure they get their piece of that extra $200 million in revenue that they're expected to collect for the treasury! Weren't they just admonished that they are critical to the Governments revenue trail?
The hypocrisy of politicians of either color wanting to impose more and more rules and laws and restrictions on the general population, while they outright ignore the laws of the land themselves. And they wonder why the little respect they get is from the ignorant. They cannot possibly earn any. Last time I checked, they swear allegiance to the queen, and the laws of the land. This is a constitutional Monarchy, not a democracy, but they are definitely using mob rules to run us all into the ground.
So, who is calling the shots again? Hmmm, seems the "social safety net" from the increased revenues they were planning to assist the poor with is ficticious and could only be more borrowed money? These idiots, collectively, are going to drive this broke down bus straight into the wall, hop off and emigrate to wherever their Bank accounts full of treasury money are stashed!
