A pointless article and commentary, each of them did whatever the hell he wanted whenever he wanted. That the Bahamian public still gets all excited about this party or that is astounding, considering the screwing they get and the worsened condition the country is left in each time they are elected. We must like consistent abuse.
Can any plans presented please include the substance of HOW the stated purpose will be accomplished? I'm sick and tired of the outlandish "feel good" promises with no content. Bahamians need to stop gobbling up the one liner promises delivered with a KFC chicken thigh and demand the "How they will". I promise, they don't know how. Never have, never will.
It is my understanding they think blending RO water with the salty water will somehow be consistent and somehow drinkable. (potable, less than 600ppm) This is going to be interesting as the salinity fluctuates well-field to well-field, day to day.
The sudden appearance of Red and yellow "single use" plastic signs indicates two things: Both political parties had the same idiotic idea simultaneously, and it shows that neither is capable of leading us forward. In this day of digital social media, (which isn't subject to Curfews) and with people jobless and homeless, moneyless, that both parties would somehow think that such a waste of money was the way to go is astounding. I'm not even going to get into the idiotic placement of these reminders that we are doomed in either outcome.
The failures are numerous, and repeated. #1, the Bahamian people have failed, insofar as we vote for and accept empty promises, and zero results. Pure Tribalism, personality driven. #2, the Governments that issue empty and grandiose promises fail, and screw up numerous other things along the way. #3 We get what we elect. Garbage in, Garbage out. #4 Thank God it is only a one month run up. I believe by default I am registered, but to what point? Get Jook or get Stab. Hell of a choice.
Calling the speakers "road show" an open Parliament is a misnomer, It was an open forum, nor more no less. The speaker is the speaker, in the house in a properly convened session of Parliament, which this was not. So who is playing silly?
If there was ever a "plantation owner in absentia" mentality about a place, it is Freeport. It would be nice to actually have an elected government behave as a Government and read these effete idiots the riot act instead of rolling over and subjugating themselves to the mediocre middle management. Seriously.
Bla de bla de bla, the real issue is can you keep the shelves stocked? Paint, new lights, new floor is nice, but we are there to buy food! Which is and has always been a total hit or miss!
A List of Political Landlords leasing to Government would be a start. Ownership of companies with everything from cleaning contracts to IT support contracts. Supply chains for goods and services. And then you have beneficial ownership behind trust documents,, a fire wall that used to be handy fronting for Foreigners, but has become local fronting for the Political. No, I doubt we will ever see any of the above.
