I feel for Dr Brathwaite, Freeport has become a city run on the "everyone in charge, no one responsible" Principal. Successive Government that obviously don't know how to act Governmentally, private city ownership without any accountability. Becoming the perfect classic slum.
While Covid shut the cruise industry down, it would have been prudent to really analyze the loss of revenue due to that specific shut down. It may have been found that we would be better off without them. It would have presented the opportunity to actually claw back the give away deals they got from Ingraham et al. would have been a good time to realize that the loss of revenue pressure on the cruise lines may have been greater than the loss of revenue pressure on the Treasury. For example, how much money did the treasury NOT rebate back to the cruise lines? There are many other angles to look at. But they ain't looking nor can they see.
One day our Government will find it must help everyone, but be able to help no one. Oh they will all have successively helped themselves to, and live in exile while sitting at Wendies/Micky D in some foreign country arguing Bahamian politics, comfortable and happy with their ill gotten treasury gains, with zero conscience.
The vaccine does not prevent catching the virus bobsyeruncle, and Minnis has said as much in one of his press meetings, as have all the so called authorities on this fiasco .It only lessens the symptoms if covid is caught after. Of course the vaccine introduces its own symptoms but why let a little detail like that interrupt the program introduced by such altruistic and noble leadership. Of course, he has contradicted himself so often it is hard to keep up. To the unvaccinated staff and customers, not sure how one would keep track of that on a minute by minute/day by day basis. Maybe a vaccination number tattooed to the same forearm they temperature scan? Wait, that harkens to history and Prophesy. Has he required the public sector to get the Jab?
Humanitarian assistance mission but they train us for urban assault. Strange. And I see they figured out how to drive the Chinese gift, the Armored tactical assault vehicle? Anyone count the grenades lately?
So, Astra Zeneca, Phizer, Moderna, J&J etc have ben exempted from Liability, Governments have declared it for emergency use and are pushing its use, exempting themselves also from liability, but here is the Prime Minister telling business owners to expose themselves to liability should a staff member suffer injury from the vaccine. Not too smart are they. So is the Government gonna pay for this weekly testing of un vaccinated staff? What employee or business can afford that? His second paragraph above is pure BS as the vaccine does not prevent infection or passing it on, it only reduces the symptoms. Sorry, I don't follow confused people.
4 years to accreditation, Yep, no doubt work permits to work in participating Dr's offices, Maybe the Rand? Aren't local Dr's already involved? Apparently you need a work permit to volunteer anywhere anyway. It is very near the proposed new hospital site if not upon the exact site. That hospital never materialized.
