Firstly, the minimum wage hurts those who are not deemed worth (by employers) that amount per week. they simply cannot get or hold a job.(Think D- and worse)
Second, Minimum wage is suppose to be an entry level wage, not a wage for life.
Thirdly, Government cannot legislate fairness or success or comfort.
Lastly, The Government is usually the root of all problems, rarely the cure.
