Poor software development outsourced to cronies and family members is the real issue.
While I don't doubt we have capable developers, if they're not connected they can't work.
Add this to the 4-5 year political cycle of contract/software changes.
Government cannot think beyond 2 stages of a flow chart if that, creating dead ends all over a given process.
Successful businesses think things through to 6 layers minimum to eliminate loopholes/stalling. Maybe we can outsource MP's?

I pray the above is dripping with sarcasm. Seriously. And even with a few pot holes we still lag behind every other island in a pot hole count.

Not having a vessel registered actually voids your existing insurance. Will also prevent renewing Insurance. Anyone operating commercially is taking a risk, which is at the same time unlawful.
Amazing how they can determine to throw a whole industry into confusion overnight, and then take months to correct their error. Same with the new Inland revenue software. Launching it for January, the busiest time for business renewals is insanity, especially if it doesn't work properly, which it doesn't. Basic process is "soft launch" or beta test, proof it before we all have to suffer it!

FNM or PLP is irrelevant, Grand Bahama is an out island with the means to solve its own problems, ALL of which stem from Government interference and periodic attack.
Best infrastructure in spite of repeated hurricanes. On schedule garbage pickup. Clean streets, meaning we (Bahamians) throw garbage out the car window on the weekends and it is cleaned up by Monday. Electric no less expensive than the rest of the country but it works with way fewer power cuts than ALL other islands. No, Freeports biggest ailment is political Malfeasance, a chronic disease since 1969.

Can we take Government to the CPC? We are forced to use their "services" after all........

Higher rates still apply (Monday 22 Jan) as Out island Port Dept offices have received no official word from on high. DPM spoke while he was acting P.M. so must be some higher authority?

The fear of death by each others hand doesn't seem to stop them, why would the threat of hanging?
Anything involving the courts drags on forever.......

The HCA has been a thorn in the side of Government since 1969, with dozens of attacks on the privately developed and managed city since then. Governments since 1969 have colluded with and gotten from the GBPA what they wanted, both personally and officially. Eroding confidence and positive investment at every turn, and in defiance of a dozen court rulings which they defy to this day.The current Governments actions are akin to kicking a fellow when he is down, a cowardly and immoral act particularly when Government is largely to blame for the decline.
