So Government increases registration rates by more than 1000%, intending only they know what, rescind the increase when Bahamians scream, finally we get a weak apology from a Junior Minister, meanwhile throws everyone into confusion, and now will make us wait til the end of the month to find out whatever the hell they've decided.
Time to throw in the towel. Bahamians cannot operate in this Confusion.

I understand the build code no compliance, I understand being here illegally without work permit or residency, What astounds me is the Government destroying what substandard housing they have built themselves, without any thought or care as to where they will go, where they will live. These are people, with children. Taking a bad situation and making it worse.

And will inland revenue have access to the cruise lines books like they have to all Bahamian businesses?
I seriously doubt it. It would show the government too much.

The obvious bottleneck for economic growth is Government itself!
Education, Infrastructure, Healthcare, police and courts, prison, all in disastrous condition while the Government itself has bled the NIB funds with no intent or possibility to repay.
Even the IMF ignores the Elephant in the room.

More concerned about "shock treatment" What on earth is that?

Perhaps the Government could publish something written that can be presented to the various out island port Dept's that have apparently not received word from above?
Throwing it all into confusion and leaving it lay fallow is no way to move in any direction!
Ludicrous to hike the rates so high, even more to leave us all confused until when, February?

“That’s not what’s going to happen, and the Government could never allow people to govern themselves. We are the Government". Not sure if I should be horrified that someone in government holds this opinion or that the Government belief is that people cannot govern themselves. Hilarious. Tis the Government that struggles with Governing the simplest of tasks.

Galanis wants pie? "What I'm saying is that we should get a bigger piece or share of the pie."
You get pie when you produce pie! currently the Bahamian pie (Domestic economy) is getting squeezed/gobbled up by government in any dozen new ways. Mind you don't kill the baker.
Perhaps Government would consider adding value for money (taxes) because what we are heading for is taxation without representation, to borrow a valid principal from our neighbors history.

Why keep it current when you can run 10-20 years delinquent and then get a 50% discount?
Isn't that the Government method? reward delinquency?

More rules, laws, regulations because the Government simply cannot follow and obey existing law.
Always the case.
