Its all well and fine to say Bahamas for Bahamians 100%,
but be thankful the US does not say the same with respect of their food supplies, fuel, Meds,
etc etc.
All amendments to legislation passed since the early 90's have consistently produced unintended consequences, and none of the intended results.
Add to that being poorly written, amendments upon amendments for spelling, omission,
The inevitable result of presenting documents written by people who cannot write, to people who can read.

The stupidity emanating from the Ministry of finance is staggering with respect of this.
Pennies are worth more in copper than face value, so make them of something cheaper.
During % off sales you will always get to a single penny as final price.
The above is also pertinent with respect of rounding per item or as a total sale.
Not foreseen by the idiots in the ministry of finance.
Try rounding VAT down and see who catches hell.........

It is going to get interesting as more and more Civil servants in each ministry/dept start squabbling among themselves for money that isn't there to be had.
Seems those civil servant jobs ain't so secure after all.

"protection from "unfair competition" provided by foreign-owned entities, and the creation of "significant new entrepreneurial and better-quality employment opportunities" were also major issues to be addressed."
More like G.B. needs protection from the Port Authority Executive, ownership and Government.
This will go nowhere.
G.B. needs massive FDI, clean and simple.

The Political class still think they are serving up the sweetest pie ever made.
Probably is pretty sweet, for them.

Ha ! a Government perpetually late on payments, with some never occurring.
And what is this: "“They [Kanoo] have been accumulating the funds,” he told Tribune Business. “There are persons that need to be paid. There’s the insurance company that needs to be paid, the people providing the testing that need to be paid, the people doing the testing that need to be paid, and the software administrators that need to be paid." AND "He added that Bank of the Bahamas, which had been selected as custodian for the revenues generated by the $40 per capita fee, would receive the majority - about 85 percent - of any fees paid out in connection with handling the sums involved."
Kanoo charging 15%? IS BOB holding the money, or Kanoo?
Somehow I think when the bill for the tests shows up it is gonna be way more than $40 per.
