How many children have we seen crying in public only to be told by their parent to stop crying or I'll slap you?which they then do? Yeah, that works well. How many children are simply emulating the bad behavior they see daily? How many children watch their parents break the law, steal, defraud, duck bills, etc etc etc? And how many parents actually honor their ethical and moral commitments to their children?
And charging them at BEC/BPL rates is expensive. My Son owns and drives a tesla y. Charges it (automatically) when the utility rates are one cent/kwh. one cent! (between the hours of midnight-6am.) his peak rate (TOU rate structure) is 16Cents/KWH at its highest.(peak times)
Foreign companies participate more readily in the political "kickback schemes" Foreign companies have financing available that is not available to Bahamian companies, not available because the Bahamas still has no well defined (or forward thinking) national policy. Their ad hoc practices as they are bounce you between URCA, Ministry of works and BEC/BPL, and are designed to control and limit, and are at minimum 10 years behind the technology. Bahamian solar pioneers have done projects outside of the Bahamas, and from 30-40 years ago: because they got schooled, qualified, and left the Bahamas. What qualified idiot would come back to fight this Bass Ackwards garbage? And I promise we will be sitting in the same non starter position in another 40 years. You cannot fix stupid, especially when it is so entrenched at the political level.
