Nothing short of a miracle could ever give Bahamians access to quality healthcare.
No matter how much they tax you to throw no matter how much money at healthcare,
it will always be lacking.
Neither is anything the Government does ever affordable.
And still pushing ahead in this non Economy.
Ludicrous.

The_Oracle says...

First costs are still rising, and will for some time.
Supply chains have been interrupted also, causing shortages of many items.

The_Oracle says...

"Judge not lest ye be Judged" I know i've read that somewhere.............
[1]Judge not, that ye be not judged.
[2] For with what judgment ye judge, ye shall be judged: and with what measure ye mete, it shall be measured to you again.

[5] Thou hypocrite, first cast out the beam out of thine own eye; and then shalt thou see clearly to cast out the mote out of thy brother's eye.
King James, Matt 7.1,2,5 will suffice.

The tests cost $15, were probably donated to the government (?), but the government is gonna charge $50, $75 or $55 for them depending if a) short term stay, b) long term stay, c) resident returning?
What idiot dreams up this crap?
Flat rate it and be done with it!

The_Oracle says...

The tests were sourced by and provided by a private Bahamas based NGO.
Be thankful for them, and thankful the government had the sense to accept the offer and plan.

Decades ago the Bahamas should have trademarked the names of the islands, even the country name itself, and licensed the use of those names. Those names are now on everything from Tee shirts to brand name Polo shirts, Boat manufacturing names, boat model names, even a flipping pina colada machine! Obviously not a dime of revenue locally. All foreign entities capitalizing on the Bahamas.
Not that it would have been a great source of revenue, but just like Facebook collecting VAT on behalf of Government, a point that should nave been made.

The_Oracle says...

If I'm not mistaken, the law requires cisterns to be built for out island houses.
Hmmm.
Another complete long term failure to administer the law?

The_Oracle says...

Consider Termites. Discovered, you know they're there, but nothing done about them for 50 years. 50 years later, the house is crumbling. Too late to save it. No where else to live though.
Proactive would have ben to tent, spray, replace infested wood.
Reactive? Stand there, thumb up yer posterior with no options.
Here we stand. Total demolition or let it fall down by itself.
Either way, it is done. By our own hand, by our own willful blindness.

Just goes to show, Aside being incompetent, government administrations cannot be trusted
to live up to political promises or Contractual obligations.
And yes, the people will always suffer the above, and continue to vote for them!

Firstly, I seriously doubt the planes were mothballed awaiting Freeport Airport resuming flights.
Second, the FAA will be on the ground investigating, if they aren't already.
That will include inspecting the runway no doubt.
