I agree with Chucky, for every expat chased out 10 Bahamians will lose jobs, and decent paying jobs too.
I cannot believe we the people gobble up and succumb to this ancient broken record.
Why not just cancel tourist visas? more direct and to the point for your Xenophobic garbage.

I don't know why we cannot wrap ur minds around the bag fee: it is designed to be a deterrent!
designed to re-train decades of habit.
From that perspective, it worked. It has created other issues however.
For the record, I was charged for plastic bags at a food store in England, 2018.
Your business model is dead, find a new one. Import the re-usables. I wouldn't be caught holding inventory in June either.

An essential service without Insurance?
Realize they are guaranteed a minimum 10% return on their investment by the Port Authority,
so extraneous costs/expenses will always come from consumers directly.
Their rates and charges are so convoluted as is they probably couldn't figure out how to sneak this one in.
Also Mr. McGregor, claiming no profit is disingenuous, in that having the public pay for repairs to your business does profit that business.
If this article is written accurately it is pretty damning on all concerned.

Stilt homes built in West End after Hurricane Wilma were not standing after Matthew.
Built to code? didn't look so.
Doubt anyone from Government assessed them to perhaps learn something.

A couple troops of boy scouts could do better and faster.
Still don't have a Hurricane or nema operations manual
Plenty teeth, no bite.
White papers have been submitted after each Hurricane, and round filed.
No worries, next time it will be a whole new crew that don't know what to do.

A security system is but a method of notification.
The Authority to be notified, is the RBPF.
If they are a) understaffed b) ill equipped C) politically meddled with d) under trained E) underpaid, your response time will be too long.
If the courts are A) overwhelmed B) politically interfered with C) underpaid D) ill equipped
you don't get timely prosecution of offenders IF Caught.
Unfortunately we are not allowed to defend ourselves with like levels of force the perpetrators are wielding.
You see the trend above?
We have undermined ourselves, abandoned the rules of civil society in favor of Political allegiance and favor.
It was only a matter of time before one of the political elite was subject to the reality the public have faced for years, decades.
No slight to the politically connected family recently affected.
They however can utilize police escorts, police guards, etc.
