So, when will Competent, un-conflicted, intelligent Bahamians stand forth to institute proper leadership? Because without an answer to that question, we will spend the next 100 years putting out the same garbage. ever 5 years.
If one is going to reference untruths, one must start with the truth, something which to date, the Government has not done. In fact, as Junior Finance minister at the time of inception, it would become obvious that the untruths have come full circle upon Mr. Laing. Funny that he would now want clarity. he has the position papers since 2001. publish them. Walk us down the garden path sir. Let us know where the pot holes are.
I would put it to readers that Mr. Turnquest is not behind this move: Political leadership is. That is, what passes for leadership these days. For every action there is an equal and opposite reaction. Inflation is one, and with the B$ having only $0.68c/U.S. dollar in purchasing power this requires more consideration than Government possesses. Do you really want to eliminate the fraud? What about the person that benefits from it? Do you think he wants it eliminated? You may, but he outnumbers you. Do you really want the special interests gone? What about your special interests? Do you really think the family connections and nepotism can be eliminated? Do you think the ministry of finance will ever not bleed on padded contracts? If we are going to discuss cleaning it all up we better start with the root of the problem.
And that Birdie was lost long ago. disassembling rule of law in favor of this PLP/FNM tribalism has taken 50 years. Hopefully the voting public will relegate both to the rubbish bin of history.
Zee frogs, they will hoist the white flag at zee slightest noise! Seriously, the Haitians bankrupt themselves paying for their independence: Such a noble but immolating endeavor. We however, immolate ourselves with no plan, massive debt, with nothing to show for it. Can't even build an outhouse for less than $500/Sq ft.
China functions under a 1000 year plan, their people are as fodder to be consumed by that plan. With us they are dealing with people that Do not think past lunch. Think about that, and realize, they have their hooks in our leadership, both parties. Quick fixes, loans, a cheap sell out. Sovereignty is an illusion.
