Lol. I hadnt thought of this! But as there's an overwhelming and neverending supply and feed cost is zero, price should not be an issue

This is a good initiative. Local food production is a need especially when crisis hits, but they have to outlast the good times too. I wonder if they will be able to bring prices to match that of imports. It's all well and good to have local production but if people cant afford the prices... people eat corn beef spam hotdogs and ramen noodles for a reason.

"*Bruce Raine, who recently switched from the New Providence vacation rental space to long-term leases, told Tribune Business: “I think Airbnbs and vacation rentals are going to take a hit if we cannot get it quieted in a reasonable space of time. Airbnbs are everywhere. They don’t have to come here or go to our Family Island as they do.*"

Would like to know why he made the switch and is it long term leases targeting expats specifically or also supported by local leasees? Did he see management issues with the airbnb space, was it the increasing taxes or was it saturation that made it not so attractive?

Story also doesnt mention that they beat up her 11 year old son who tried to help her when he saw her being attacked . What is going on with Bahamian men? Why is there so much sexual violence. Still zero account of the ASP who violently attacked a woman walking down the street for rebuffing his vulgar sexual advances. I pray God we dont ever have a disaster like Dorian that hits Nassau, first because who wants to see that kind of destruction. But second, omg, our men will turn into animals overnight. Women will not be safe. The evidence is everywhere, even in parliament.

The story doesn't make clear that she reported one of the officers cut her hair. We need to get this right. People cannot be detained behind closed doors and subjected to whatever torture the detaining officers be they police, defence force or immigration decide to dish out. Then on release is always she say he say. This isnt a date. Where are the cameras? Where is the independent oversight checking on the detainees?

No, I'm not going to advocate "harassment" of any marginalized community. There is a language barrier, the **plan** has to include a *targeted* message that reaches that community. They do the same when a hurricane is looming, they did the same for COVID. It's called "*strategic planning*"

If I was advocating for harassment of migrants I would not have said, "*it's worth more to have people use roads correctly than play gatcha*". I would have instead said yeah catch all dem migrants who dont know how to drive, but **I'm well aware that Bahamians drive badly, that's why the reeducation is for everyone with language specific messaging *targeted* to migrant communities**

Also before the technology launch have a massive reeducation campaign. Target immigrant populations as well. It is worth more to the state to have people use the roads correctly than play games of gatcha.

No sidewalk parking, no uturns, give way, no scooting into the traffic circle to beat cars coming around the roundabout within 1sec of you, give way turning left on red, no 3rd lane on a dual carriage way, slow moving traffic takes the left lane, no driving over medians to turn around
