This article doesn't do justice to the word "Insight". The question is asked *who really has Bay St's interest at heart* then concludes that Chester Copper is right about everything everyone who has an opposing view is wrong and Bay St needs wealthy residents.

The most glaring ommission the author made in his search of who doesnt have Bay St's interest at heart is "Govt of the Bahamas". While they've raided NIB and BOB for ill advised concerns personal and private for decades, Bay St has been allowed a steady visionless decline culminating in the garish painting of the straw Flea market as a symbol of "*revival*".

**Bay St doesn't need foreign rich residents in high towers pushing residents "*further south*" and inland so they can be comfortable, what Bay St needs is parking and Bahamian shoppers**

Why wasnt it reported that this was the Pirate cruise ship? Theres no blame to lay on the company clearly the act was reckless but why do we do this thing in local reporting where we *appear* to withhold information in an attempt to protect special interests then the full details have to be a surprise in the international press? The news about an MP accused of rape is big news all over the Caribbean for example

"*debt for nature swap*"

I only read the headline...I hope this doesnt mean we'll be cutting down a record number of hills in exchange for ever increasing the debt

"*linked to the Davis administration's plans to set-up a Large Taxpayer Unit.*"

I believe this is exactly what I posted in my "*stop the bleeding rant*", .ie. dont allow massive tax bills to accumulate. @bonefish told me I didn't know what I was talking about. I believe I advocated for a separate VAT account that could be monitored, possible the big companies already segregate VAT, but who knows. The one thing thats disturbing is the comment that "*it shouldnt be an issue for them to file in 15 days*"... I would have *asked* if it would become an issue before mandating it. If they post in 15 days how quickly can they get their VAT refunds processed?

Find a way to do it without the need of a govt contract. If you cant, modify or start working on the next idea that doesnt.

I see a whole new batch of people using God as their "*in*" to politics. God divorced himself from politics when the people asked for a human King. Up to that point God had been leading them. They wanted someone they could see. So God gave them what they wanted and left them to suffer the consequences. So when I hear people talking about how they prayed or they dreamed a dream and someone show up to run in their constituency the next day, I see these people never read the bible. Or they just skip to the juicy part. God already give the remedy to heal the land, and it wasnt a political candidate.

"*Disclosing that he "doesn't hope for things coming out of the Budget", describing the communication as the "selling of euphoria...*"

I read with interest the Tribunes poll question, "*were you satisfied with the budget*", and wondered exactly what was the question asking? Did he read the speech well?

I think Gowon Bowe is 100% correct in his assessment, but I as always get the impression that he's forgotten the people. What do I mean by that. If he was talking to a business, fire 5 employees, reduce salaries, streamline, reduce cost of goods, etc, those kind of emotionless, divorced, black and white decisions can be made when the only consideration is cost and profit. Govt is is different thing, it requires some empathy even for the undeserving, it's not a business. It can certainly be run better though.

Our problem isnt so much that we dont make the harsh decisions it's corruption, too much money goes missing by whatever means theft, bribery, wastage, graft, excess, poor management, our problem is the election process that gives us non thinkers and unethical candidates who rely on corruption. And if you make harsh decisions and dont eliminate corruption, God save us all, the zombies will be crawling over the gates at Albany looking for food.

I give them leeway sometimes, when you're put on the spot it's possible to say something nonsensical. Like outcomes from 8 people is a "*trend*"

What most likely happened, as has happened to thousands of Bahamians, someone who cant produce their own good ideas, somewhere along the chain from top to bottom, saw your plan, realized how much income it could generate and decided theyd "*do it themselves*".

Unfortunatrly these brain dead IP theives never get the full import of the idea or the vision and end up implementing it's crazy cousin which never scales well but can be patched and propped to limp along for years until the next administration comes in and their person scraps it to implement their crazy cousin. Dont let it be something technical, administration's can wow the public just by saying, here click this button, we digital. It's a plus if they can mention blockchain or AI
