I recall saying something was off with the food program quite early on but as a nation there was a national view of why yall troubling them good people doing all that good work? A few days ago someone referenced the phrase from a Bahamian song "*Pimps in the Pulpit*", no better place to hide, noone looks for them in plain sight. We have no vision. I see a new batch of people jockeying to be placed in leadership now.
"*deputy Commissioner of Police Leamond Deleveaux yesterday denied reports that former Youth, Sports and Culture Minister Lanisha Rolle is being investigated by police.*
*He said police were looking into some “irregularities” at the ministry, but could not say if those irregularities occurred when the Minnis administration was in power or during Mrs Rolle’s tenure.*
*When approached by reporters on the matter yesterday, Mrs Rolle said her track record spoke for itself and added that she believed in due time, the truth will be revealed.*
Lanisha Rolle was correct about one thing:
"*in due time, the truth will be revealed*"
Lanisha is actually a sad case. She was someone who should have never been put in that position. She was never equipped to handle power, neither was Adrian Gibson. That was clear to everyone. Yet Dr Minnis pushed both of them to the tippy top immediately. Never made sense.
I still say all this new sheriff in town business is unnecessary. The focus needs to be on prevention the exception should be chasing people down. Prevent the build up.
"*we have to find a way to ensure that the process works more smoothly, because in Bimini the other day the issue came down to simply three batteries were needed for the fire engine.”*
Hmmm. I wonder if it would be a good idea to have a Central agency solely responsible for disaster preparedness. Then none of these issues would slip our attention. I mean that would literally be the year round job of everyone at the agency... They should pass that resolution in parliament, call it something cool like *National Emergency Management Agency* or *Disaster Response Agency* or come up with something new altogether like *Star Wars*
What do these parliamentarians actually do? They're surprised that people still have outside toilets, they werent aware that shanty were spreading so rapidly, their hands always tied by legal limitations of laws they banged on the desk to pass and now who knew that disaster preparedness wasnt being coordinated? Who could have possibly known? The person in charge of it all? Clearly not.
I wonder if the Happy Easter billboards got put up?
We keep hanging our hat in th his cruise ship industry when it was demonstrated from 5 years ago that year over year they're giving us diminishing returns. They know it because they've moved strategically to ensure less and less money gets into bahamain hands. The only people who seem not to care is those in parliament.
Hopefully China will report th o the public soon on what's happening in the discussions in those private rooms of parliament
Enjoy the breadcrumbs. How much Adrian and Lanisha going to court for again in "*alleged*" corruption? All together it's well in excess of a million. And that's only 2 junior people who just reach.
Also, this story got pushed aside, literally, it was amazing to hear it in real time, because we wanted to talk about the excitement of carifta! It barely generated a blip. Sports and games are exciting and deserve attention, but they've also been misused from the time of Caesar to divert public attention from unpleasant realities on the ground
