Id really like to know if this is (partial) seawater on land. Im assuming Exuma has had heavy rainfall rainfall in the past 20 years. Are these houses built on swamp land? Im listening to the national response and its baffling. *Who could have known?*
A property is being filled in at the end of Prince Charles. Its private property so they are free to do as they like. But that area floods notoriously. I wonder how the filled in land will now affect the water level settling in the road that was probably already at 2ft or near under sustained rainfall. I see theyre busy building sidewalks, a strategic givt would either build a drainage system (theyre not going to do that) or place a water level marker in the vicinity so people could judge water depth... but then again... you'll probably have to add the 1ft drop into the pothole
The story needs context, details such as, are these areas that normally flood? Was this record rainfall? Was this high tide? Were the seas higher? Was this sea water coming inland exacerbating the problem. Are these valleys/swampland? Like Pinewood? (Reporters tend to photograph the dramatic) Was the ground already saturated? I'm assuming because the DPM gave a statement it's more than 2 houses affected. Were people warned that they'd have 2ft of flooding in their areas? You cant create hysterics at every sign of hard rainfall, but if the data says 2ft of flooding, seems like a good time to open shelters. In advance
I see them building sidewalks along prince charles by sea grape shopping center. I hope theyve planned for drainage because as it is the section of the road that *was* planned with drainage in mind experiences flooding in the left westbound lane. Sidewalks without proper drains will collect water in the road
100% correct! They look after their interest, as they're supposed to. Our job is to look after ours. Our main problem is we dont even know what our best interest is, The PM asked investors to *shape Bay St for us*.
"*We dont need anything from them*"??? That's the strangest thing I've ever heard. Our everything *currently* depends on them. We dont have to like it, it's on us to change it if it's so onerous. We already know what zero tourists for one year looks like.
Dont know if that is correct. It's not like she came to see Mr Davis, she came to see Caribbean leaders. Her visit is more likely due to US concerns about the foothold China is gaining in the Caribbean through its funding
They can stop the traffic violations. As odd as it sounds, the fact that they allow people to break traffic laws with impudence sends a signal that everything is allowed, noone checking. That mindset then transitions to societal conduct unrelated to traffic. And random roadblocks every month defeat the purpose they only frustrate the people who obeying the law
This is a travesty. As is standard practice for all senior govt officials they are sent home on paid leave until the investigation is completed. Neither Adrian Gibson nor Kirk Cornish should be allowed to enter the doors of parliament or any ministerial position (if their govt was in power) until authorities have ruled that their names have been cleared. The fact that Adrian Gibsons case is a court matter around serious issues of betraying public trust, calls for this principle to be applied even more so. Theres damning commentary regarding Cornish but the police seemingly have the same issue completing interviews as they have charging people with running red lights everywhere, so while that hangs over his head he shouldnt be allowed as a representative either
